I would suggest relying on the HVAC equipment to check temperatures. You want that system to be functional with out C4 and just have C4 to monitor control and adjust.

    Hi @Matt Lowe,

My customer wants to get rid of the in-wall thermostat which comes with regular AC units. Since the temperature sensor is inside the thermostat, I need to use another c4 compatible temperature sensor to update the proxy.

The control inputs and outputs of Cool Master Net Zones can be seen in the following image.

It doesn't have a temperature input.

  2. Hi @lippavisual & @Kevin L

It's working now. Earlier, I was using the DMX RGB Dimmer in composer, which has 3 sub channels to assign red, green and blue. I then enabled the RGBW management option and linked the additional DMX dimmer for the white channel. This worked well for American Lighting LED strips and Colorbeam recessed lights but not for this DMX engine (LEH-4091). Finally, I used individual DMX dimmers for the respective channels after finally getting the user manual from the manufacturer. We need to add an additional channel (Channel 6) for the dimmer to work. Otherwise It would not turn on.

    CH1:Red (256 level)
    CH2:Green (256 level)
    CH3:Blue (256 level)
    CH4:White
    CH5:Speed (256 level)

    CH6:Dimmer (256 level)
    CH7:Strobe/Program Speed
    CH8:Preset Program

I'm sharing the datasheet for anyone interested.

I think it  needs to be 2 separate rooms. One for music and one for tv.
otherwise how would control4 know which volume to control?

We could select the source to be controlled from the navigator and adjust accordingly.

    Just watch this video

    @JSTRONG

Here's the link to endpoints of the room. This is using a Leaf Audio Video Matrix Switch and audio video receiver.

Hi Dinushan, why the need for a switch at all? Any reason for that? Just use Bond to program all your commands from the Casablanca Remote and you can do whatever with C4 App.

    Hi Amr,

Just felt like using one to cut down and supply power. Anyway I bought the Bond Bridge and it works great! The switch would reboot the fan, so I decided to get rid of it.

    Thanks!

Haven't tried this particular unit, but should work the same as any other.

You would just be connecting Channels 1-4 for RGBW control.  Everything else wouldn't be compatible with the DMX Engine driver.  All color control, speeds, etc. would be created on the Engine.

    Hi  @lippavisual

Have you tried anything for pool RGBW lighting?

  6. Hi @Amr & @Gary Leeds UK

I need to use the below ceiling fan for a project.

    https://www.hunterfan.com/ceiling-fans/casablanca-stealth-dc-with-led-light-54-inch-fam756?bvnotificationId=70ff3813-3e19-11ea-b994-12f0dbf8d8ed&bvmessageType=QUESTION_ANSWERED&bvrecipientDomain=liveez.lk#answer%2F1674789

It is a casablanca DC Stealth fan coming with 4 wires. I thought of using a C4-SW240-WH switch to connect the motor line & the light bulb. So with the bond bridge, i hope ill be able to dim the light and control the speed of the fan. If i dim the light or control the speed using the c4 app or the remote which comes with the fan, will it cause any voltage variation at the c4 wall switch?

This question may sound stupid but I was just wondering whether it's safe to connect the AC driven DC motor to this wall switch?

I have read the datasheet of the switch and I know that it supports AC motors. Here I'll be using the switch to cut or provide power to the ceiling fan motor and the light. Then at the same time I need to control the speed of the fan and the brightness of the bulb using the c4 app.

    Please advise.

    Thank You.

  7. Hi @sonic30101

Yes they are in the same room. All components show in the diagram are in the same room.

I'm not using a video matrix. I'll be using a MoIP to transmit video signals from central video sources. The MoIP Receiver is there for this purpose. Finally we should be able to do the following.

    1) Listen to Music through speakers connected to the AVR.
    2) Watch Video from all video sources and listen to video's audio through AVR.
    3) Watch Video from all video sources and listen to music through AVR at the same time.

Is the avr in the same room as the c4 controller? Do digital coax from the EA5 to the AVR and set the watch/listen for the video matrix feed to that HDMI input so it passes it through

Have a look at my new diagram

That would work just fine, I would still connect the HDMI output of the EA3/5 to the TV for the OSD and disable HDMI audio on the EA-3/5 so it would not attempt to route audio via HDMI. We do this all the time where we have an EA-5 back in the rack connected to an AMS8 for multi-room audio and then have an EA-1 behind each TV, I always make sure to disable HDMI audio on every EA-1 so it cannot try to stream audio via the TV.

    Thanks @Crustyloafer

Surely if you just connected the analogue and digital coax outputs from the EA-5 directly into the AVR and then  use the HDMI output for OSD only then you don't need to worry about music sources being routed via he MOIP system.

You will also want to use some form of audio return from the TV in that zone back to the AVR so the audio for video sources can be listed to through AVR also. Alternatively you could use the HDMI loop out of each MOIP transmitter to feed each video source into the AVR too.

That way you can select a video source and get the audio and then when you select music it will stream from the EA-5 analogue or digital outputs into the AVR and video will remain onscreen.

    Hey @Crustyloafer

I hope the method demonstrated in the following link (Image) would work as well?

    http://s000.tinyupload.com/download.php?file_id=93104536377956638082&t=9310453637795663808266827

All video sources are getting connected to 'one connect' through HDMI. The one connect has a optical audio output which can be connected to the AVR's optical audio in. So if we connect the EA-3/EA-5's digital coax output to the AVR's digital coax in, should we worry about the OSD?

    Thanks...
