ejn1
Hi, I'm curious what folks are installing nowadays for long HDMI projector runs (eg 25-30') where you need to get full 4K HDR transmission? When I set up my projector 7 years ago, I had a tough time getting a solid full resolution signal / HDMI handshake that distance and finally landed with a fiber optic cable with baluns but its starting to get a little glitchy. Are there new HDMI extenders via Ethernet that really do a good job? Or new fiber options? Thx
LollerAgent
Bullet Train from AVProStore is a popular active option. https://www.bullettraincables.com/10kaoc.html ejn1
chopedogg88
for 25-30ft I would just get a fiber HDMI cable from Amazon, they work great for even longer runs than that.

Control4Savant
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B081SH3LXK?ref=vse_pfo_vdp I use these for all of my dedicated theater installs. Pull some CAT6 with it so you have a balun solution always available ejn1
ejn1
Thanks all, seems like folks are still using fiber. Assume no one is having any HDMI handshake occasional issues with above? Thanks again. I have ethernet run to the projector as well but think its Cat 5e...
JSTRONG
I use those 50 ft fiber hdmi cables with no problems.

Cyknight
Fibre HDMI if you can, 18G HDBaseT over CAT6 if you can't. CAT5e may work, but I can't recommend it as such. ejn1
BY96
They are very pricey, but I am 100% happy with the new Celerity Technologies cable. It is fiber optic with HDMI or Display Port attachments at each end. In theory, the cable itself is capable of transmitting any amount of data, so in the future when things advance past HDMI 2.1, you can buy new connectors but use the same cable. I have also used their older version. It does not have the best reputation and I found it to be too deleicate, but the newer/current model is excellent. For 25 to 30', Celerity is probably overkill, but for longer runs, I think it is an awesome, but expensive, choice. https://celeritytek.com ejn1

Had some glitches early but was solid for years but now might be having renewed issues. I like there Fiber MPO cables to HDMI current models. Neo1738
I think all would agree Fiber>Ethernet at this point. For that run $55 fiber cable is def way to go.

ejn1
I ordered Celerity's latest cable. They are using a fiber MPO trunk cable now with HDMI baluns. https://celeritytek.com/product-ufo.html
