RAV got a reaction from SYH in Wall-mount hardwired key pad for a hardwired electrified door lock
You would have to put it in a outdoor switch type box. It's an indoor keypad, can be AC or DC powered.
We did a closet with one of their pocket door locks, used words as the code. IE: u n l o c k (obviously not that one).

RAV got a reaction from SpencerT in Dual Load Switch For North America
Shelly is a relay (or dimmer) that sits on the WiFi instead of the Zigbee mesh like Control4's devices.
Rather than deal with color and style, the button part is separate, and user provided, and is optional.
The button part has options in setup as to how it will behave. Visit Link: https://www.facebook.com/legacy/notes/2331082316991119/
Typically if you wish to maintain an in room physical type switch, then you use the EDGE option (see link).
This toggles the load each time the switch is flipped, in use it feels like a 3 way switch setup in that up is neither on nor off, but simply the opposite of what the relay is now.
Regardless of whether the light was turned on by Shelly App or Control4 then the next flip of the wall switch wired to the relay will change the light to the opposite state it is in now.
And therefore the Shelly App and Control4 can each still toggle the light regardless of the physical switch or the app used.

RAV got a reaction from ChrisHenderson in Good backgrounds
I find framing on an object better than using the whole room.
The tub, sink, stove, artwork, fireplace, bed, couch, front door etc.

RAV reacted to bnorman in New Room List Icons?
Apologies for reviving an old thread. Just thought I'd mention this in a place where people interested in this topic would see it. In the latest app update we've added the option to turn off the wallpaper preview for rooms. Should be helpful for properties that don't have many room unique wallpapers. You'll find it as the 2nd row in Preferences.

RAV got a reaction from SpencerT in Seeking Best Practice running outdoor ethernet cable into home
Doesn't need to strike the cable, enough current in the air and the cable will pick it up like an antenna.
Grounding isn't to safeguard delicate chip sets, it's to avoid fires. The whole National Electrical Code, fire and people safety, not equipment protection.
The inline surge will help, but fiber can be immune altogether and cost isn't that different anymore for a whole lot of gain.

RAV got a reaction from Matt Lowe in What are realistic expectations for Control4?
It's typically not the system that was an issue, it was the dealer.
Finding a competent dealer makes a world of difference.
Explain you wants and needs, have clear defined goals, and you'll be happy, like most all the other Control4 home owners.

RAV got a reaction from Gary Leeds UK in OS3.4.1
Update:
Posted on dealer forum 1-30-24 8am.
A new HE is built and will be going through internal testing.
When ready, it's expected you'll just need to update HE.

RAV got a reaction from BXTR in C4 Connect and Assist - new CIaaS offering
Not every client is respectful.
Not every dealer is responsive.
Talking to my rep team a few months back, it was clear that it's a big issue for many, and for Control4, than most of us are aware of.

RAV got a reaction from South Africa C4 user in Transferring data between Residences
I've played with this to relay a couple status between home and work system.

Ideally would be a cloud service to store values to be read and updated from both/multiple systems.

RAV got a reaction from Rob21 in Home Theater Screen
Other than the viewing cone, the two fabrics are going to be very similar.
The slate will have less reflection on a ceiling than the pure white, as it has a lower half gain.
But if the room is wider, and you need better off axis viewing depending on seating, than the white is a better choice.

Incorrect. Assist requires Connect.

1. Shows as an asset on Control4's financials
2. Allows client to change dealer without affecting service (yes, the dealer set as my home pro gets next months check, not locked to the selling dealer)
3. Dealer only gets check while a dealer, any turnover where a client doesn't change their pro results in no partner pay out
4. Accounting of who's eligible for services, and allows the showing of the contact info to only those based on if paid, secret club access
5. Most dealers couldn't handle setting up an RMR
6. Interest: client pays yearly, dealer paid monthly
