They should be able to track warranty by MAC address.  Snap actually alerted us of every 700 we had in the field that would fall under their replacement program.

The closet of random stuff is getting full so time to clear it out.  All of this gear was in my personal system and has been upgraded out at some point.  some of it was only ever put in for testing purposes and never even used.  If you want the story on any individual item or are interested in buying anything shoot me a DM.

have you made the optical connection from the TV to the soundbar in composer?  if not composer can't see an audio path to the soundbar and will not control the volume.

Make sure you change the default login on the Lutron processor.  Lutron integration does strange things when not changed.

I can see where you would speculate those possible scenarios but that's really just not what's going on.  Control4 users probably make up less than 1/2 of a percent of sonos users if that.  So at the end of the day Sonos really does not care about the CI channel.  They'd rather have people using the sonos app so they can collect more data.  This isn't just a Control4 integration issue either, it's a limitation with the Sonos API which is the same for all other control systems so clearly it's not just the guys at control4 not having the right conversation.  The past several years Sonos has made it very clear with their actions that they have zero interest in supporting the CI channel, which you can't really blame them, they're really just a blip on the Sonos radar.

Is Airplay and Sirius don't work there is likely a network issue that wouldn't be solved with a new amp.  Not saying the amp setup isn't janky though.

You need to elaborate on "MDU Services".  Are you hoping to offer things like the ability to make calls from the touchscreen to the front desk, concierge services, etc?  If so you will need a communication server, a well designed building network, and the proper gear in each unit.  Or are you just going to have a bunch of stand alone project in the apartments?

Hey now we have some questions.
    1. So for "years" you've been telling us the dealer only model will die.  I'll give you that as a fact.  other facts...every single one of those years Control4 business has grown at reasonable rates, and rates comparable to other technology companies.  My dealer's revenue is tracking to be up 40-50% this year to the point where we have conversations about sustainable growth and are we growing to quickly.  Just because you say the dealer model is going to kill everything over and over, that doesn't make it a fact.
    2. I've personally been involved in several scenarios where someone from Control4 corporate has engaged with an end user directly and something has changed because of it.  I've seen bugs fixed, drivers edited, features added, etc.  This one is pointless to argue because you don't feel personally heard which I get is frustrating but that doesn't mean Control4 never listens.
    3. How the hell do you know what "most" dealers are doing?  I'd imagine you've interacted with less than .01% of them.   Again just because you say something doesn't make it a fact.  There is a very active community of dealers constantly working with Control4 on testing, suggestions, ideas.  Just because you don't see it doesn't mean it doesn't happen.
4/5. I'm not going down the composer rabbit hole, or the reasons for the acquisition.  It's pointless and I don't have the energy.

mstafford388 got a reaction from JmBisval in Using DIGITAL MEDIA OUTPUT
Under connections for the controllers you have digital audio and analog audio connections.  Those are what you'll want to use to connect to an audio matrix or amp.  Don't worry so much about the digital media connections.  They build themselves in the background and typically don't need to be changed unless there is an issue or specific design you're looking for when it comes to audio server/clients.

Except that stuff is still supported.  Nobody is making you update, all of those products will still work, and you'll continue to receive C4 support on all of them.  I'll never understand why people would want C4 (or any manufacturer) to throw engineering resources at things like making new systems backward compatible with old hardware that isn't designed for the new systems vs working on innovation and new products.

Oh ok.  So you want an IO extender that can run a project.  I honestly don't really see a huge need for that.  With so many things going IP controlled these days I tend to have to sell additional controllers for more audio streams before I need more IO these days.

That sounds a lot like an IO extender which hasn't changed in forever outside of a slightly refreshed V2.

    You can't confirm that.
And if you actually could confirm that or not, you would be breaking the law. So, let's say you DO have an inside source. You're risking their job and/or their freedom by sharing this.
Conjecture is great. Pretending to have official word when there is no official word is not. It's pretentious and annoying, and if you're actually right, it's reckless.

Depends on the shades.  If you want to be safe I'd run a cat cable and also a "shade" cable that is a 4 conductor (18/2 for power, 2 wire for control).

It is so funny watching people who are in the know but can't talk about it interact with people who have no idea what's going on but will talk about it like they do.  (FYI just a general fun statement not calling anyone out).
