mujtaba.khokhar got a reaction from Neo1738 in Can't get faceplates on square switches!
I’ve used neodimuim magnets before to get keypads to fit into surface mount back boxes. I know you’re not supposed to but it works and they are pretty strong to the point where you have to pry them off.
so basically attach keypad to faceplate, get some ca glue and glue magnets to back of keypad, and the other end of magnet to surface mount back box.
works like a charm
Thanks
Muj

mujtaba.khokhar reacted to msgreenf in A low cost tablet with Intercom!
One of the biggest things requested has been a low cost intercom enabled tablet. This has actually been possible since the 2.7.1 Days!
Hardware
Right now I think some of the best hardware to do this on a $129 Lenovo Tab M10 HD which has a great charging dock or the $99 Lenovo Tab M8 HD which has the same base but trades the 10 inch screen for the 8 inch screen.
Install the control4 app as you normally would and install the Linphone app.
Basics
Then in control4 you need to add a Universal SIP driver to the room where you are using the tablet.
That is how the intercom appears in that room.
Then configure Linphone to use that extension.
Improving the experience
You can use the Control4 in Pinned app mode which will make it be the main app running but then you will miss incoming calls
You can also enable Google Assistant Ambient mode to allow you to have a phone screensaver and information screen for Google Assistant.
Need help? Message me and I am happy to help you with this setup.
Should I post more details? I know this is very high level

mujtaba.khokhar reacted to Hizzle in OS 3.2 and Door Station Not Working
Thanks for the offer. I had rebooted my door station 3 times as well and run the autoconfig. Nothing. Went to sleep last night and work up and it seems to now be registered and working. Strange. Also, Apple rolled out an iOS update which includes History but don't see Intercom Anywhere yet. Don't know if I need to set anything up or if it will come out in another update. I'll have to look.

mujtaba.khokhar got a reaction from davededo in Using HC-800 with AMP108
It depends...
Doesn't matter how many audio sources you are using, what matters is how many rooms you are going to with the amp. if its just 2 rooms then yeah it will work. if more rooms then you need an audio matrix.
Thanks

mujtaba.khokhar got a reaction from Gary Leeds UK in Intercom Anywhere and Akuvox
Hi Chris,
Are you on IOS14?
The intercom anywhere all has been updated to support apple call kit v2.
Please make sure your intercom anywhere app is updated too.
Due to security reasons and changes from
Apple you won’t see video till you answer the call on your phone and press the video button
Thanks

mujtaba.khokhar reacted to jasonC4 in New to C4 - Issues with Dealer and question about IFTTT integration
Just wanted to provide mujtaba.khokhar with a big thank you! This community is great and Muj has the patience of a saint when working with a newbie to this ecosystem like myself. I'm all sorted out, and Muj was also able to correctly identify the brand and model number of my blinds simply by looking at the connector photo above, which he confirmed once he became my pro. Thanks again to everyone that contributed on this thread!

mujtaba.khokhar got a reaction from jasonC4 in New to C4 - Issues with Dealer and question about IFTTT integration
Judging by the fact it’s rs233 sounds like it might be Somfy rs485 blinds.
There’s probably a rs233 to rs484 converter taped up then the white cable goes out to the blind.
I’m a dealer, I can get you set up with an account etc and get you registered, if you can create a VPN for me to log into the network temporarily and get things setup. I’d be more than happy to help.
Send me a PM if you’re interested
Thanks

mujtaba.khokhar reacted to msgreenf in What Did You Automate Today?
ok, next fun automation!
New Hardware used:
$13 TP-Link HS200 wifi switch
Existing:
Garage door contact sensor
Human door contact sensor
Drivers:
Advanced Lighting timer drivers
Goal:
Automate Garage lights to turn on when either door is opened so that the garage is fully illuminated when you step into it.
Configuration:
Used the advanced lighting timer driver to configure the driver in an "Or" configuration with the 2 sensors. If either sensor is open, then turn on the light for 5 minutes. When both sensors are closed, end the function and set a 2 min delay before the lights turn off.
Outcome:
My 3yr old son discovered it on his own and he told me something magic happened in the garage
The advanced lighting timer from Domonspaians is pure magic! It is hands down one of the top 10 Control4 drivers. It's the swiss army knife of lighting timers. https://drivercentral.io/platforms/control4-drivers/lighting/advanced-lighting-timer/

mujtaba.khokhar reacted to Bruce S in Control B&O TV SPDIF Input
There isn't a SPDIF option in composer. The more I think of it, that shouldn't matter because the TV should just turn on by using the CD command. The TV is a BeoVision 11-46.
**I figured it out. I tried utilizing different buttons than CD, e.g. A-MEM, but the only one that worked was A/V analog input (with SPDIF). Works like a champ.

Try disabling the screensaver and then reenable it
You can do this on the agents section on composer he

mujtaba.khokhar reacted to HomeAutomationNerd in LG OLED TV + Annex4 IP Driver. TV Won't power On
The good folks over at Annex4, via their Facebook chat, were able to help.
The problem:
the MAC Address wasn't bound. The user (me) skipped that step in the docs, thinking IP Address was enough. Anyway, once this is done the on/off controls work like a charm.
