  1. Go back to a switch, you run the risk of damaging the dimmer and or the jukebox light. The dimmer is not capable of true switching, it is using a triac to dim very quickly, but this is still not the same. Could you re-wire the load to somewhere else (hidden in a cupboard for example) then install a keypad in it's place so you still have the extra buttons at that location?
  2. Yes, @alanchowhas made drivers for these: Belkin Wemo D-Link Smart Plug Orvibo Wiwo s20 TP-Link Kasa
  3. Yes, the bug was iOS only so they left it in the Android version and removed from iOS. OP - do you not have the volume buttons visible in the bottom media bar? If the room is on then you should have these available which will control the volume of the endpoint for the device. Why would you want the TV not to turn on when you are watching it? And why do you want it to stay on when switching the room off? Trying to understand your use case so as to advise on best solution.
  4. Confirmation of what won't work in OS3 (taken from C4 knowledgebase - if not allowed then mods please remove!) Life Cycle Changes To upgrade to OS 3, current control4 systems must be 2.9.0 or higher. 1.1 Must be Removed & Requires Intervention If the following items are in the project, the Upgrade Advisor will report them and block the upgrade. Once the offending items are addressed, Upgrade Advisor can be run again. Controllers (1) - HC-250 Touch Screens (5) - 7" In-Wall v2, 7" Portable v2, 5" In-Wall (FKA: Infinity Edge), 7" In-Wall (FKA: Infinity Edge), 7" In-Wall RevB (FKA: Infinity Edge) Door Stations (2) - Exterior Door Station, Interior Door Station AV (1) – Speaker Point IP Cameras that utilize the Camera proxy v1 WakeUp agent (the Wakeup/Goodnight agent should be used instead) Security systems that utilize V1 Security Drivers Blinds that utilize the Blinds v2 proxy 1.2 Limited Functionality If the following items are in the project, the Upgrade Advisor will not block the install but instead will provide an informational message. iPod proxy – Transport controls (play, skip, pause, etc) are no longer supported in graphical user interfaces for drivers that use the iPod proxy. Controller (1) – HC-800 – The HC-800 is supported in OS 3. However, the Flash-based Navigator is discontinued so there is no on-screen display (OSD) for the HC-800. Within Composer, the Upgrade Advisor report will indicate that the HC-800 is supported, but it will not include the OSD. 1.3 No Longer Supported & No Intervention Required The following items will either be removed automatically from a project during upgrade (if they exist in a project) or no longer supported. Web Nav Access (2) – WebHTML and WebNav(flashnav) Apple Watch MyHomePC Legacy Audio EADev Driver Generic Media MyHome Drivers – control4_ipad, control4_iphone, control4_android, control4_myhomepc – Remove automatically HC Generic Driver 4store Agent
  5. Yes, Control4 have been a bit silly on that Gary! They have confirmed on dealer forums that release date is 28th (next Tuesday)
  6. Blind cables can use different gauges for power depending on the run distance. Lutron have a guide for their own blinds here http://www.lutron.com/TechnicalDocumentLibrary/045314 QS WP Guide.pdf (page 9 for the wire length chart).
  7. Have you checked the connections on the room as well? It's been a while but I think there is a connection for room's security system which might need to be made for the new driver.
  8. Check under the Navigator tab for the room in System Design (where you set the Watch and Listen lists). There is a section for security where the new drivers may be hidden.
  9. Unfortunately the tabletop screens are quite well known for this very issue The top and bottom bars both seem to stop responding, sometimes one or the other, sometimes both.
  10. The Control4 driver documentation does state that an IP-COM is needed (I looked it up this morning for something else), but I think they may have written the documentation before the SmartCom was released!
  11. There's an email address you can send the request to and C4 will make the mini-driver for you.
  12. We've seen similar with Sky Q boxes in the UK. They will sometimes change from 2.4GHz to 5GHz to wired and back again at random unless you go into the installer menu and turn off the wireless completely.
  13. You will need to send the other tech the backup file from your controller, then they will need to run controller software on their computer, and when they have made changes they will need to take a backup and give it back to you if you need to maintain it after this. It would be better to have a dedicated device on-site running the controller, or you can run it on a Cloud Key or web server (AWS and possibly others too) to have remote management.
  14. If you have a few devices in different locations that you wish to monitor the power status of without running extra cables, you can use Belkin Wemo devices and the driver from Chowmain - quite a neat solution https://www.chowmainsoft.com/belkin-wemo The Wemos aren't the cheapest of the smart plugs, but they are well built and Alan's driver is great.
  15. From the V2 IO Extender data sheet (here https://www.control4.com/docs/product/io-extender-v2/data-sheet/english/latest/io-extender-v2-data-sheet-rev-a.pdf) Contact 8 contact sensors—30VDC maximum input 12VDC 1.25A maximum output Will be the same or very similar for the V1. EDIT: Just re-read your original post, are you trying to do different things based on different voltages ,like a dimmer controller for example? If so, a contact sensor is not what you want, they are simple open/closed circuit detectors, any voltage will give the same trigger into the Control4 system.
  16. I don't think Global Cache do a device that is a contact sensor, they only have contact closure (relay) devices. https://www.globalcache.co.uk/helpdecide/network-control
  17. You could take an audio out from a C4 processor into an audio in on a Sonos unit (Connect, Connect Amp or Play 5), then set the Sonos to autoplay the line-in in the rooms you would like the announcement to play. The big issue with this method is that the Sonos will not remember what it was doing before the announcement plays, so once the announcement has finished you will need to start the Sonos playing again manually.
  18. Sadly they stopped the developer program a few years ago, so can’t be done (unless you want to make and sell drivers commercially, or become a dealer)
  19. You have to be a manufacturer or otherwise commercially developing drivers to become a “partner” apparently (again, this is based on what I was told last year when enquiring for a client. As he was neither, c4 wouldn’t help with this program). C4 certainly used to have a program where anyone could sign up for a nominal fee to be a developer and gain access to Composer Pro and the DriverworksSDK (a different client from my old company did this), but this is no longer running.
  20. Not technically any more... at least that's what I was told last year when a client asked about being able to write his own drivers for his heating system.
  21. We've just had one on the bench for the last 2 weeks and will NOT be offering IP integration to clients. We could get it to set and un-set area 1 fairly reliably from a TS, but other areas were doing really weird things like setting the wrong area, or un-setting all areas when it should only be un-setting one area. It also decided to stop giving feedback one afternoon, requiring a reboot of the alarm system to get it to come back.
  22. We have the Bluetooth module in the 2N Verso (same hardware as a DS2 but different firmware) at our office. You have to open the app, wait to be in range (configurable in the web interface), then press the button on the app to open the door. We have used it a grand total of 0 times after initial setup and testing, it's much easier just to type in a code on the keypad or wave an RFID fob (we have a separate access control system connected to the door, the 2N is set to trigger this which then triggers the door). TLDR; IMO the Bluetooth module isn't worth it.
