433MHz RF will not interfere with WiFi 2.4GHz from Radio perspective, totally different bands not even the harmonics, as for the remotes, a lot reports switching to bond fixed their issues including myself as we don’t know what we are dealing with, a trial an error is the only way unless we get specific equipment list, I say it will definitely work better than the crappy remote!

For what it's worth, that had been my approach as far as High Lamp only for HDR (and 3D) for the past several years, for exactly this reason.  But edit: *not* long after getting the NX7, I've changed it.  I have a large screen (160" diagonal 2.35:1), and so generally have the iris wide open, for both Low and High Lamp.  What I decided is to keep it in High Lamp, even for non-HDR content, and then close down the Iris to the same light output as I was getting in Low Lamp.  This increases the contrast significantly, for a better picture overall.  And if I then need to replace the bulb sooner than otherwise, I'm okay with that.  I've spent so much on this stuff that what's an extra bulb going to mean?? 😁

Sorry... I forgot all about this until I used “between” again today. It definitely works in OS3.1.3 for me and it definitely stopped working in OS3.1.x for me..l just not sure if x is 0, 1 or 2...

Don Cohen reacted to Cinegration in Have Control4 Thermostat use Z2IO Temperature for Regulation?
It’s 100% possible.  We’ve done this a lot.  The thermostat has 3 modes of temp, internal, wired external and Control4 input.  You have to manually change it to the third for it to work.  I wish it did this via programming though.

we had a customer where the wired temp was reading a cooler Temp because the sensor was mounted in the entry way.  I put a zio near the bed and poof. Customer happy lol

Yeah, as much as I love my Ecobees when they work, I share your frustration.  Fell off again last night and I had to relink.  Had to do the same last week.  It's been a pretty rough couple of months.
The Ecobees are so versatile that I have automated the heck out of them, but that makes it even more maddening and inconvenient when they keep getting unlinked.

You need AEC for it to work properly, so shutting it off won't help at all.
DB driver is on Drivercentral and does work with IA.

Will do. But if you register on the dealer forum and share your experiences in my thread then i'd suggest we can ask C4 to look at it.

This was a few months back, but I installed a Motion Sensor at our Front Door, since that is where most of our Amazon and other Deliveries take place, and typically they don't knock or ring the bell.  Using a text to voice engine I found on the web, I created an mp3 file: "Someone is at the front door.  Someone is at the front door."
So when motion there is detected, I programmed a few actions:
The T3 in our Family Room, where we tend to hang out, brings up the Front Door Camera (using the DS2 Mini present there) An announcement is made on the T3: "Someone is at the front door.  Someone is at the front door." An email is sent to me, with a camera snapshot from the DS2 Mini. Nothing fancy or elaborate but I really like having this in place.
Occasionally the dog next door will check out the front porch and trigger a false positive, but that doesn't happen often.

Don Cohen reacted to ILoveC4 in DS2 Mini - Camera Problem following Driver Update
It’s only 6 months old. I’m actually excited and embarrassed to say that it DID NOT die. I mistakenly failed to reserve its IP address and it had an IP change. When I updated 3.1.3 that seemed to resolve itself and I noticed the new IP while troubleshooting again this morning. We’re back up and running and the IP is reserved.

Don Cohen reacted to Cyknight in Should Director have IP Reservation?
Just to get back to OP - there is no official 'best practice' to make the controller static/reserved as stated by C4 at this point AFAIK. That said, doing one or the other is commonly considered the 'better' way over leaving it to get different addresses over time (though a lot of routers these days will automatically 'soft reserve' and IP to a device provided it's online when the router starts up).
There certainly is no reason NOT to reserve it and/or set it to a static IP (well, assuming you can do so without making errors/typos).

To me the biggest argument for doing reservations, and using routers that let you do this without having to find/copy mac addresses etc (Pakedge, Araknis and several others) is that it's DUMMY proof over static settings and/or manually typing in reservations. Fact is that a lot of C4 dealers/programmers out there (not on here) are NOT 'network literate' at all....so the EASY way (provided there are no downsides, in this case there aren't any major ones) is the ADVISABLE way.

Your controller running director should be set statically.  I’d also advise any other C4 equipment to be static as well.
This way if your network crashes, router dies, whatever, your system will still chug along happily and keep working.
There have been many complaints about systems slowing to a crawl or just stop working when ISP services go down.  Mostly do to using ISP provided gear or keeping equipment on DHCP and router craps out.
Doing the above solves the problem.

You can specify manual IP assignment for all C4 gears, it’s much better, you make a reservation for gear that doesn’t allow the feature e.g. Roku, Echo’s, lamps, etc

Don Cohen reacted to Cyknight in Should Director have IP Reservation?
Correct, neither would be in place - it's advisable to at least set the main controller on reservation or static, it tends to make the app connect a bit faster, and if not done and a phone/app hasn't connected in a long time it can cause the app to be unable to connect (rare, must be a very extended time).

Is it REQUIRED - no, but a small thing to do to avoid potential delays.

Yes, all devices actually should have reserved IP on the DHCP server or if you can manually enter the IP it’s the best practice, only guest network should be left for no reservation.

HDBT AND NETWORK WORK IN DIFFERENT WAYS, the signals are different.

Yes Cat6 can only handle 10gig but video is transmitted over the cable at 18.5gps, I’m not an expert in this but from what I know the way the signal is managed is different.

When the cable is used for network only a few of the cores are used depending on what sort of uplink you have. With HDBT all 8 cores are used to Transmit and Receive video which is why you can push higher bandwidth through the one cable.

This is the same for HD OVER IP AND WHY YOU SHOULDNT MIX YOUR HD OVER IP AND NETWORK SYSTEMS TOGETHER, it just opens up a can of worms.

With the compression if you go for a reputable brand (I use, Binary, Wyrestorm, Bluestream) all 3 a re great and vary in price, depending on what features you need (scaling, tiling, pip to make a few) Wyrestorm works better if the cabling is old and cat 5e (4K is achievable up to a certain distance and I find this should be no more than 40m with decent cat5e) where as some of the other brands have a minimum requirement of cat 6a @ 250mhz for you to be able to push full Phat 4K @ 4.4.4.

Matricies and HD over IP systems have settings built in for video resolution and sound profiles. There’s a lot of fine tweaking you have to do in order to get it to work to the best of its ability.

With regards to cinema room. I put an AVR locally in the room and run an optical HDMI cable to the projector. I then have my kaleidoscape plugged into the AVR and then the matrix or HD over IP system in another input. What you’ll find is not many pieces of hardware actually support 4K @ 4.4.4 many of them are 4k@4.2.0 or 4.1.0 for any good video distribution system they are more than able to process this. Heck I’ve even left a kaleidoscape in a rack hooked up to a matrix and it’s been perfectly fine with 4k@4.4.4 as long as you use the correct HDMI cables and set your EDID you’ll be okay!

    Hope this helps
    Thanks

See my post above - I added the Universal Disney+ Driver, and using the Bravia App Selector, was able to Connect this to my Sony 900E TV.  Same for a few others: Acorn, CBS All Access).
As Mitch indicated above, since it involves adding a Driver, and establishing a Connection, this is a dealer function.  Actually that's a guess on my part, since I haven't played with HE, but if Mitch says that's the way it is, that's good enough for me.

Appreciate the reply and advice, Matt.
I would always do a backup, labeling it as such, before an OS update, so hopefully that would give me some protection.
And to be honest, I'm also tempted to see these as a learning experience, which is part of how and why I enjoy this stuff.  Problems and unexpected results can be quite frustrating, but I do end up knowing a lot more afterwards, with pretty much any technology!
