Robert Robran
Is it just me or is OS3 really slow to connect? More so remote but still even local takes forever sometimes. Anyone have any suggestions on how to speed this up? Anish

Robert Robran
Ea5. Network is not the issue system was way faster to connect on OS2 and the graphics on OS3 are slow to display proper feed back. Located in Phoenix, Az area. Speeds average on my network at 189 mbs. Tablet and phones all slow to connect, worse remote but not a lot better on local. System is good size but not taxing the ea5 by any means. Robert Robran
Using a Arris dos3.1 modem. Have tried several different routers, APs, and Network switches. My current config is a Netgear A6, with a netgear pro safe manager switch. Have same issue with araknis gear.

chopedogg88
should be okay then. there were some issues in OS 3.
ILoveC4
OS3 is just way slower to connect that OS2. It’s better than it used to be when OS3 first came out but still not as fast as it was in the OS2 days.
chopedogg88
The OS3 app connects within a second for me. But I'm on android and from what I understand the iOS app is slower. Anyone have any suggestions on how to speed this up? Same issue for me. Still hasnt been resolved. Intranet Connections takes about 3-4 seconds to connect which is much slower than Os2. Connecting with 4sight is a unusable experience for the past 6 months. Can take up to a minute to connect to my system. 3.1.2 didn’t make any appreciable difference. @jakblak was looking into it at that time
Tokead
Since upgrading to the latest version, I find it very slow to load on my iPhone especially if out of the house, >5 seconds at home and more so away. If loading HE, I find it slow too. I’m running on my 800 as my main controllerSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Costa
Crzy to wait half year+ without any words from Control4 when it will be same fast to use as OS 2.10 Clients laughing when need to pay 100 $ for a year subscription and wait 60 seconds to connect, very carefully click on the buttons (cause it reacts so sloooow ) and wait for another 10 seconds to state changes. Comparing to other systems that works just normal, with the same speed as you expect. And when we sell Control4 screens and controllers (not a cheap product but middle to high level) we earn money for a manufacturer, it is very strange to hear nothing on this connection issues from C4 and ask clients to wait .... hmmm.. don`t know... week, month, year... p.s. for example in Europe, Control4 works with ABB as KNX partner. ABB touch screens connecting for 5-7 seconds from LTE around the globe and a year subscription cost 3 times less, ask them how Anish and Robert Robran 1
mstafford388
Android is definitely faster than iOS but even remotely on cell connection it never takes more than 12 seconds for me to connect to my system on my iPhone 7. Typical load time is 7-9 seconds. I'd be willing to bet there is something else going on if it's taking as long as you're saying it takes. ILoveC4
"A long time" is obviously relative and up for interpretation. For me it takes a few seconds locally (it depends on how recently I've had the app open) and remotely it usually takes 5-10 seconds...sometimes maybe a little longer? 60 seconds is crazy. Robert Robran
It never takes 60 seconds more like between 15 and 30 remote, less local. It’s definitely not a network issue it just slow to connect. Once its connected its fast on response almost Instant its just the initial connection. Honestly it’s not just my system it’s every system that I feel like I work on these days remote connection is so much slower than it used to be even local connection is slow compared to what it used to be. That being said I have not used android but to me that should not matter, if it is a ios only issue than that is something control4 should be addressing or at least acknowledge the issue. Regarding the 60 seconds , For some of us it’s a geographic issue(note not internet speed issue). Control 4 had acknowledged this but still no fix to date. It’s almost 6 months. Maybe they need to refund our 4 sight subscriptions! Edited April 15, 2020 by Anish Omission Robert Robran
South Africa C4 user
I upgraded to a CA10 6 months ago and local connections (on a big project) are now phenomenal... about 1 second. And that is (unashamedly) on iOS devices. Remote connections are easily 30 to 60 seconds which is very annoying and makes my holiday house (almost unreachable remotely). Our issue is local servers (I am told) as we live in South Africa. In theory, we were told this would be resolved in Q1 2020 but that is now history and I suspect COVID-19 will delay any upgrade for sometime. Would be nice to hear from C4 on this though! Cyknight
I'm 5 seconds tops remote (just tested home, office & showhome). Nor have I personally noticed anything anywhere close to 10 seconds, let alone more. So it's not a 'general' issue - can't comment on geo or local server issues of course. chudel
It should be an easy enough change to make -- cache the configuration and refresh it using a background process.

I do suppose you could have it constant;y running in the background and load/upload data. But do you thing that would be wise, data usage etc?
