Yes, Bluestacks does allow you to do this, but Bluestacks in full of adware for games and is 99.9% focused on games and pushing you to install games. Being able to run the Android apps natively without needing anything would be useful.
In the Bluestacks world it seems that all "apps" are know as "games" - like this:

MS is unveiling Win11 right now and one of the announcements is that Win11 will natively run android apps.  That gives us a way to have a C4 Navigator in Windows.

The Amp108s had lots of issues as well.  If you want to save money get a used c4-16amp3-b. It still works perfectly well - the main downside is no digital inputs.  The Triad is a better option but will cost a few $k more.  The Episode Response Amp also would work - it is a matrix amp.

You are not wrong.  The iOS app is stupidly slow.

I have four speakers around my hot tub driven by a Control4 4-zone amp - these also drive two other sounds around my pool and the source is either TV or music.

Agreed.  I have had Tidal for a few months and I far prefer using the Spotify app to find and start music using the play to device function.  I don't think the Tidal (or Amazon Music) UIs that we have in the C4 app are very well done.

That's fraud isn't it?  I would certainly attempt the dealer to change to new stuff and sue if he refused or even call the police.

I posted earlier in this thread about bulging capacitors which indicates capacitor plague was most prevalent about 15 years ago when many of these units were made.

zaphod got a reaction from milehighguy in Easily make Custom-Scenario buttons for your Control4 Navigator screens
I have written a Python script to easily make C4 drivers with customized icons by altering the stock Control4 Scenario Experience driver.  This involves unzipping a C4Z file, changing the icon image files, and making slight alterations to the XML file before rezipping it.  This script automates all of that and outputs a new C4Z driver file that can be added to your project by your dealer via Composer Pro. You just need to provide an image file to start with - ideally a PNG file that is about 1024x1024. (Smaller image files were working but some icons might look stretched.) After the new driver file is added to your sytem you can then use Composer HE to decide what screens to display these in, and Favoriting in Navigator to put these buttons on (almost) any screen that you want and tie them to any task in C4.
You will need Python 3, but it should work in Windows, Linux and WSL. (If you are running Linux under Windows 10 then you should have Python already installed on that. If you have Windows 10 I would highly recommend installing Ubuntu so that you have a Linux system running inside of Windows 10).
Instructions on how to do all of this are in a Readme file and in comments in the Python file.  In theory the script should work on Macs as well but I don't have a Mac to test.  Download the file from Github:   https://github.com/zaphodb65/C4driverbuilder
The final result will look like this. (This is from the C4 app on an iPad)

zaphod got a reaction from msgreenf in 4 Channels Amp - One Room
FWIW - I have a C4 four channel amp in my pool cabana for my backyard. I have it set up for three separate rooms - cabana, pool area and hot tub area but I just have set up programming so when the cabana source changes the other "rooms" change to the same source as well.  The advantage to this is that you can control volume separately for each "room"
edit - Another advantage as that you can have separate sources on which I occasionally do.  I may have the TV on by the cabana, but want music on softly for the other zones.

zaphod got a reaction from chopedogg88 in Epic Driver for Alexa stopped discovering new devices
That's why I said "as" dependent rather than not dependent.
Not 100% sure but it appears to me that the native C4 driver hits the cloud twice - first it hits Alexa to interpret the command and then hits the C4 cloud to execute on the command.  I think the Epic driver does the second part, command execution, locally.  But you or Ari can confirm.  If this is correct that is one reason why the Epic driver would be a bit faster.

zaphod reacted to Zuhair in Control4 and MQTT?
That's correct, once you link the "Berto IOT Device" driver to a temperature sensor (Tasmota, zigbee2mqtt, zigbee2tasmota or Shelly) the temperature and humidity will be available in C4 programming. To have the temperature displayed on OSD you'll need to bind the "Berto IOT Device" driver to C4 generic temperature & humidity display driver.
In my case, I've asked my dealer to bind all the "Berto IOT Devices" temperature sensors to C4 generic temperature & humidity display drivers to have it displayed on OSD and easier programming in HE.
For example in my case: C4 will get the temperature from Aqara Zigbee sensor, if it's above a certain value it will close the Aqara Zigbee curtains, and if the humidity is high, it will turn on the A/C.
In bathrooms, if humidity reach to a certain value, C4 will turn on the exhaust using Aqara Zigbee wall switches for 15min.
In some areas, I'm using Aqara Zigbee motion sensors to turn on/off the light using Aqara Zigbee wall switches.

My list, a few new and a few "me too"s.  I realize some of these are third party limitation rather than C4s.
Web based Navigator. Convert Composer HE to run as a web based app so that it is OS - independent. Run Composer HE on Linux or Mac. Another vote for full REST API and native MQTT integration. Give end users the ability to install Mini-apps they way that they can install music services with Add Music. Native Spotify Control. Increase in the max number of Spotify instances in a project. Ability to use a Raspberry Pi as a C4 audio endpoint or IOX.

True - it is $7.99 if you are a Prime subscriber.  But it seems like paying a premium for high fidelity may be going away, at least in the short term.

zaphod got a reaction from c44me in Integrate a Jacuzzi
I would say it is off marginal benefit but there could be some potential cost savings.  For example, if you only use the hot tub in the evenings or on weekends then you can turn down the heater temperature from say midnight to 4 pm on weekdays and midnight to noon on weekends - you can (likely) do much more complex scheduling from C4 than from the Jacuzzi app.  And if you have 4sight, then you could also easily control the tub remotely - so if you are away on Vacation and realize that you want to turn the heater of then you could do so.  But these features you could likely do with the Jacuzzi app as well.
I have a Jacuzzi spa and C4 but the spa is 12 years old and isn't integrated into anything.

zaphod got a reaction from Wonderful in Want to become a dealer
My original dealer here in Toronto wouldn't have had a showroom and had very little expertise in networking, HA, etc.  He was a traditional electrician used to working on 120V+ types of projects.  But this was around 2006-7 so I imagine things have changed a fair bit since then.
