After getting a quote from my dealer stating my project would require 2 full days of programming, I reached out to Mitch on a whim.  Am so glad I did!  He's the most knowledgeable C4 guy I've ever met.  He was able to complete the work in an hour and a half and provide suggestions I wasn't aware of that ultimately made my project and experience much better.  Thanks again Mitch!

The video dropping seems to be pretty regular with IA.  Of all the C4 door stations I’ve sold, which isn’t a lot, every single one has this problem.
Still needs some work I’d say.  I see it happening on 1Gb service and 10Gb  backplane.  Network is not the problem.  My guess is the servers are way too underpowered or slow.

I must say that I was a big fan of this driver but am now glad that I moved off it a few months ago.  Ari, seems strange that the fix is “not financially feasible” to do, given the 10,000 plus customers you say you have? $1 million to $1.5 million should make most coding changes very financially feasible?

This is what the 'Room Control' driver makes easy. I regularly use it to program a button to cycle between multiple presets/favourite playlists/stations and alter the LED colour according depending on which preset has been selected. I also program the same button to just illuminate white if a Listen device is selected but is not one of the presets. A double tap of same button does a 'Room Off' to stop any music and the LED goes black.
Here is an example of my Kitchen keypad.
Top button: Kitchen + Dining Lights
Button 2: Kitchen Light
Button 3: Dining Light
Button 4: Music Button
Up/Down: Volume control of currently selected source

What about lack of hard transport buttons.  For me that is a big con as my main TV watching is sports and I watch delayed and use the Skip and FF buttons constantly to zip through stoppages in play, commercial breaks, and halftime/intermissions.

im in the middle of moving my mother in law's XP laptop to a Win 10 machine.  talk about a learning curve for the user....

The TP-Link Kasa integration using the Chowmain driver is excellent, as are all of Alan's drivers.
We use the TP-Link Kasa smart plugs in our showroom for various devices and they have been great.
That said, the C4 switches are not overpriced, they just offer better integration and control that you get from a third party solution.

1. They are usually in a completely open ceiling void with plenty of space and airflow around them so not an issue in that respect.
2. Upgrades, they are done over the network connection. Reboots are done via managed PoE switch powering it.
3. I guess his client is looking for a minimalistic look.

We have a custom Button that we can press when we go on vacation
Simple - Holiday Mode on or off  
However we trigger everything now by our Alarm - When Alarm is armed  start playback from mocupancy when off start recording 

And it’s OK to have expectations from a company as well.   I’m never going to settle!   We are being critical because the competition is on the cutting edge and have been for a while now.  We like Control4 and that is why we post because we want the best and not sloppy seconds
