I'm doing exactly what I said...in connections you have to bind the Nest protect smoke alarm contact sensor to a generic smoke detector and program off the generic smoke detector "when smoke detects smoke"
The protect reports the contact closure thru the API that's all back end, nothing you have to program
Lol what?? Tempurpedic?
my bed does not have wifi, but can attest that the tempurpedic cloud supreme breeze medium hardness is the best $$$ I ever invested in my life 4.5 years later and still feels as good as the day it was delivered. Dog approves too
The levels are too high on the amp just like if you turned your stereo all the way up with no audio coming out speakers would hiss. Out of curiosity, when listening, what is an average volume % you would leave it at for a comfortable listening level? What sources do you have?
i am unsure of what you are asking about the instant on question
step in the right direction but it took 3 years for me to become confident in IP drivers for AVR's. Just became comfortable with the Sony TV IP drivers.
I still like good ol IR tho for tv's
Does the switch have an orange triangle on it?
The IP address likely has nothing to do with it if it was setup correctly with SDDP. Setting it to static is just for cleanliness of your network.
Id get a dealer / remote dealer to login and program properly for the additional zones/functionality you desire.
Power cycle the matrix would be a start
$500 rack clean up is reasonable I'd say depending on what's in and and how bad the nest is. Could take just as long to take apart as put back together. Plus any shelves, laces bars, straps, zip ties etc.
agreed on wiring.
Maybe you misread the quote or they mixed up the labor numbers and it's $1k to program and $250 for the speaker run?!
$250 for c4 overlay even if everything working is a steal. It will take longer than 2 hours to install even if everything 100% operational.
If they're out the door in 2 hours you better have their number on speed dial
They didn't do it because they want you to use IR flashers so you can control devices with touch pads, keypads, iPads etc. it's a good idea. I think they do have the IR emitter built in but they will never use. I like your rants but this one is stupid
I get a push notification from nest and c4 every time I cook bacon and it gets a little smokey. They come about the same time. Hardwired protects.
I think your issue is programming off a color change and not binding the protect to a generic smoke detector then program "when generic smoke detects smoke"
