I have fuses and want to upgrade to arc fault breakers, why do I need a whole new panel, feeders, meter socket, conduit, and weather head???
If C4 just shut down your ancient door station out of the blue, I’d totally agree with you.... but it still works. Old equipment just doesn’t magically support new features. You clowns can cry about ‘oh they didn’t even try’ as if they can magically ‘try harder’ and old hardware will suddenly achieve new things.. but it doesn’t work that way.
Did you really install a door station into a custom home and not think... gee.. this won’t last forever... what do I do after that?

I'm not a C4 dealer and from an outside perspective from what I have seen everyone is blaming the dealers on here and C4. Again, go pick up your 8 year old cell phone and see if it updates to the latest iOS or Android with full functionality. Technology is developing so fast at it's current rate it can't help be outdated in 5 years. If the company decides a device will cause problems with an update they have every right to EOL it. I get that this is expensive technology but it doesn't change the fact of how old it is and that at the time it was pretty cutting edge. Additionally, this thread was supposed to be about features for the new 3.0 but all I keep seeing is people complaining that something was rightfully EOL. Then the most people who are most helpful on the forum are being attacked as if they are the ones who made the decision. Look at my posts, I'm a pretty even headed guy on here but enough is enough. People are unhappy with the decision great, but don't rag on the dealers who are trying to explain why it's not a crazy thing for technology to get out dated so quickly this day in age.

Those that disagree need to realign their expectations with reality. Trying to make C4 look like an outlier is a fallacy.

Yeah really not sure why people expect old stuff to be updated forever. Like has been said cell phones, cars, etc don't get updates forever. Why should your C4 be any different? And 8 years is definitely long enough to stop updating. They didn't decrease your functionality, just didn't give you increased.

We did a soft update on Rachio as it now requires our new license manager. We have not announced it as we are doing a slow roll out of the new BDM license manager and figured Rachio would be a good driver to start with.
You need to install BDM (BlackWire License Manager) https://www.blackwiredesigns.com/manager/    here is more info on the manager https://www.blackwiredesigns.com/store/blackwire-driver-manager-for-control4/
Once you install BDM and set it up it will auto update the Rachio driver to the newest version.
    The Rachio update includes:
BDM Integration The project property not saving correctly  An additional fix for the property not saving on a reboot.

My suspicion would be that the iOS app is asking the driver for a thumbnail resolution of a given size (with a 16:9 aspect ratio if the driver states that it's supported) and then provides a URL that the camera can't actually fulfill.  Try setting the aspect ratio for the camera to 4:3 in Composer and see if that fixes your thumbnails on iOS.

I rewrote the security spy driver.
Note: Even though I am a Control4 employee, this driver is not supported by Control4. Control4 will not warranty this driver. Please do not contact Control4 regarding this driver. This is my personal driver.

Why don't you just ask the dealer directly? If they have been accessing the system outside of normal working hours and you would prefer them not to then just say so.
It's not conducive to a good dealer/client relationship if before the install has even been completed you don't feel you can discuss this with them face to face before resorting to trying to find evidence through other channels.

When it is on, pressing the button turns it to being able to use the grass, when it is off pressing the button starts water. The button is showing what will happen.

Look at your media player. When you press music starts playing and the icon changes to pause ||. Press pause the icon goes back to play.

Stating that “There is nothing revolutionary or evolutionary about that function” tells me that you have some in-depth knowledge about Control4 hardware and software that I’m not aware of.  I know that what C4 does may seem trivial and could easily be done on hardware as simple as a Raspberry PI but I assure you, it is not.

Having worked at Control4 for over a decade, I’ve been in many meetings where product managers are desperately trying to figure out how to NOT deprecate hardware.  Sometimes the problem is limited engineering resources and sometimes it is the result of hardware limitations that can’t be overcome.

I can confidently tell you that the decision to deprecate hardware is never taken lightly and has never been done with the intent to sell something new and better.

    Hiya
This driver provides an easy way to setup images with Control4 push notifications. The driver supports authentication with both types (Basic & Digest). This will let you setup any camera snapshots to be shown in a Control4 push notification! Your camera driver does not need to be updated for this to work.
All you need is the snapshot URL, the authorization type (if required), the username and the password!

(That notification was triggered manually, hence nobody at the gate)

Hey blub, are you using a phone or a tablet?  The Active media bar doesn't appear the same way on phones as it took up way too much space.  On a phone, you get the media bar on the bottom of the screen.  See the attached screenshot

    Thx!
Been using this for my son. While not happy at 3:30a this morning when alarm triggered, I was happy to see him again for breakfast!
Fires event at configurable low and high sugar levels. You can do anything C4 can do in response to event - lights on in room(s), pathway to kitchen/carbs, alarms/sounds on touchscreens, etc. Even has an alarm snooze that resets after levels are back to “normal”.
Based on UI Proxy so uses icons to show CGM level at anytime (see attachment)
I just need to retrofit some architecture and get it documented - shouldn’t be too long.  bDexcom will do the same, just will hit the Dexcom API instead of Nightscout.

I realize this is likely a small slice of Control4 users out there but does anyone run NightScout (http://www.nightscout.info/)?  If your interested, I have a driver that integrates CGM data into C4 and am looking for a few testers.
Also, for an upcoming driver, anyone using Dexcom CGMs?
