RyanE reacted to Darin, PM C4 CX Platform in composer HE bug after upgrade to 3.4.1.701303
A couple additional issues surfaced during the beta, so those are being addressed now with a new HE build that should go out for testing soon. We'll be rolling the HE update out once testing and validation pass successfully. We have also identified the gap in testing that allowed this to slip out in an unfunctional state and have updated our testing/release process for HE to ensure this shouldn't happen again in the future.

RyanE reacted to Cyknight in Dimmer
Yes the question is understood, the answer still is that even with a non-dimmable load attached, the dimmer module (output) is still NOT a switch and shouldn't be used for connections that should not be on a dimmere (vs a load that you don't WANT to dim or an LED that isn't dimmable)

Bit of a rough piece of text there.

    1) You're simply wanting to have certain lights be full on or off: if so, the dimmer can be set to have a minimum on of 99% and a short ramp time of 250ms. This will make it act like a switch 'feel' wise especially from it's own buttons and keypads (but it will still show the dimmer slider on touchscreens etc.)
    2) You have devices that cannot be dimmed:
2a) These devices are motors: you MUST replace the dimmers
2b) These devices are non-dimmable LEDs. You MAY get away with what was done under point 1), if that doesn't work, you will need to replace with switches.

That audio switch has a built-in announcement feature.  However, I don't recall if fading was part of it.  Videostorm would be able to answer this for you though.

RyanE got a reaction from neil12011 in What is the correct 3.5mm auxiliary cable we should use for RS232 communication of control4 controllers to control other devices?
Since the device puts the ground on the largest (furthest in) connection, a standard straight through 3.5mm to 3.5mm is what you want.
As Cyknight mentioned, you may have to switch the controller's RS232 output to null modem (or to straight through) to make it work.  The null modem setting swaps TX/RX, so if your cable / device requires it the other way around, it will work one of the two ways.

Just in addition to what Alan has said already (as a few people have asked), this is a local integration which uses control directly via network

Why is this product so exciting?
ratgdo is a WiFi control board for your garage door opener that works over your local network. It connects to your door opener with three simple wires.
It works with virtually any residential Chamberlain or Liftmaster manufactured garage door opener and also offers basic support for other brands which use dry contacts to control the door.
It can control the door and report back the actual status of the door (closed, opening, open, closing). For Security + 2.0 door openers, the obstruction sensors, light, wireless lockout and even motion sensing are also integrated.
What garage doors will this work on?
Any residential door opener made in the last 25+ years by Chamberlain/Liftmaster should work. If your opener is mounted over head and has a yellow learn button, it is supported by ratgdo hardware v2.0 or greater. If your opener is a wall mounted jackshaft opener or has a red, purple or orange learn button, it is supported by ratgdo hardware v2.5 or greater.
Door openers manufactured by the Chamberlain Group have a learn button on them. The color of the learn button can (mostly) tell you which control protocol the opener uses.
Residential overhead mounted openers with a yellow learn button are Security + 2.0 with a red, purple or orange learn button are Security + “1.0” Residential wall mounted jackshaft openers With model 8500W or RJ070 are Security + 2.0 All others are Security + 1.0 Security + 2.0 door openers require ratgdo v2.0 control board or later Security + 1.0 & Dry Contact door openers require v2.5 control board or later Many non Chamberlain openers can be controlled with dry contacts, but also require the connection of limit switches to ratgdo in order for it to interpret the door positions (Closed, Opening, Open, Closing)
A matrix of known / tested compatible garage doors can be found via link below.

How does the motion sensors and obstruction sensors work?
Motion detection requires a wall control panel with a built in motion detector such as the 889LM. Obstruction Status requires Obstruction Detection Beams be installed. This can be purchased from the garage door manufacturer. The ratgdo driver will automatically install the motion sensor portion and obstruction portions. If these are not available on your product configuration then please delete the motion sensor driver or irbeam driver from your project. What is the remote control lock?
This feature allows you to disable the RF remote control from controlling the garage door. This is useful if the car is parked outdoors or if it is loaned out to someone whom the homeowner does not want to give access to the garage to.
Help i cannot use my garage door RF remote anymore.
You have locked the remote control. Unlock it via the driver or via the ratgdo web server.
How do i install ratgdo hardware?
Please see link below instructions. Take note that you need to pre-install the ESPHome firmware as per instructions below.

Uhm. just use a standard stereo 3.5mm to 3.5mm cable. If needed change the serial output on the port of the controller to null.

Despite being lower power, if your Zigbee devices are not spread out a lot, Channel 25 works pretty well.
I mean, it's what Control4 runs Zigbee devices at shows, where it's very difficult to even get Wifi throughput due to the saturation of 2.4GHz Wifi access points.
