not aware of any. As far as you would want to automate is controlling power on non critical devices and powering them down to conserve energy uses.

what music services are you using? With out as many cast devices you will be limited as compared with the vssl. What issues are you having with the vssl amplifier?

To know if on Generator: Have a wired outlet that isn't on generator, plug in a 12v supply to a contact.
    Contact opens, you're on generator.

Note that you can purchase the keypads from @msgreenf , install them yourself, and have @msgreenf or one of the other remote programmers on this forum add the new switches to your system.
And regarding your original post, if you engage your dealer or a remote programmer, have them review CONNECTIONS on all of your switches and explain these to you. If you have C4 switches connected to each other or to lighting loads via CONNECTIONS and you try to program those buttons, you will get odd behaviors.

Matt Lowe got a reaction from turls in Sonos Amp, Sonos Connect and C$
Sonos needs to work on its own using its own app. So start there. Set all of the devices to the correct device inputs and make sure you have full control over the devices from the sonos app. After that make sure those connections match in control4.  You can run sonos into control4 but then you will have trouble matching the audio up. It can be done but it is fairly advanced to get it setup. WE talk about some of these pitfalls in our Composer Home video tutorial on you tube.

Essential and the rest of c4 lighting have unique aux keypads. Keep in mind the aux keypads have no lighting or engraving options. They cannot be programmed. They can only turn on the load that they are connected to. If you want to program functions or want lighting scenes on each side you will want to use configurable keypads or additional essential switches or dimmers not connected to a load.

I will say the new switches do look really good.

The buttons are nearly identical in size vertically. They are thicker than before and the plate covers the actuator and light bar rather than letting it be exposed.

Sure can or you can order control4 mechanical switches in snow white if you would prefer the mechanicals switches to more closely match your smart switches.

The contemporary will work with any faceplate but with traditional styles they will stick out and not look right. it is best to use them with contemporary faceplates.

Control4 wireless lighting is rock solid. No issues mixing and matching essentials and regular line... I've done it several times.

Matt Lowe reacted to DLite in Infinite Loop, Experience Button, KNX
I don’t use KNX, but if I understand you correctly, this problem has a solution.
    1. When Relay 1 is closed, set your experience button state to on
    2. When Relay 1 is open, set the experience button state to off
    3. When the experience button is selected (not set to on), toggle the Relay 1 state.

This approach will allow you to track the state with your experience button, operate the relay with your experience button, and still operate the relay with any other control method you already have set up. There will not be an infinite loop.
    I hope this helps.

You're getting a few people mixed up here -- and its adding confusion to the conversation.
Original dealer wasn't on the job. New dealer called and was denied based on policy. Homeowner called and was rude to our tech support guys (yes we have the recording). We reached out to new dealer who ghosted or was busy or whatever to try and help fix. After not hearing anything back over the weekend we [Blackwire] proactively followed up with the original dealer and got everything squared away. Issues like this are extremely rare and we have the policy in place because the customers we service (dealers) overwhelmingly understand why its in place.
You guys can keep bitching and moaning about nonsense you can't do anything about unless you own 1) Control4 or 2) Blackwire but everything is all good now because thats how we work at Blackwire. We're all former dealers here and we don't leave anyone hanging  -- including people who call and are not nice on the phone -- because we have all been there.
tl;dr everything was fixed because we are not assholes like the OP suggests but that won't matter here because there's a dead horse to beat

"I personally reached out to the dealer who contacted us and asked for all the licenses in the project they needed transferred. As of this post we have not heard back."

I get that certain end users (like .1%) may be put off by the policies, but that's why competitors exist. If you don't like the policy, buy somewhere else. There are some open source DIY projects that might like more tech-savvy people to join.

That attitude toward end users probably has nothing to do with last quarter's $22m SnapOne loss....

The "Blackwire guy" doesn't need to answer to anything, and what their policy "seems to be" according to this thread is unlikely to be correct.
He said / she said, but even stupider.

I suspect for 95%+ of customers, this will never be an issue.
If your dealer works with Blackwire, and stays in business while they're your dealer, you likely will have no issues.  I don't think the whole story is being told here, and the only one who knows the full story is not going to comment on it.

It because CEC it so good it knows what you want to do at all times. It is wise to turn off all CEC on all devices as it can cause unattended issues as you have experienced. EARC is getting better allowing you to decided what CEC can control on some devices and most audio devices can now use ARC with CEC turned off.

Finding the dealer of choice is usually done in the customer account, and with no access to that....
Transferring to a new (or other existing account) isn't a huge deal though. Super easy locally, remote, well see chopedogg above and send him a PM and I'm sure he can arrange it.

sounds like an issue with the tv itself. if it was control4 and the room was being turned off the audio would have shut off as well. You can also check the control4 app and if the tv icon is lit up then it means control4 also believes that the tv is on.

Matt Lowe reacted to Jeff W in intercom anywhere-Chime
Short answer is yes.  Long answer it depends how you set it up.
To my knowledge the "Chime Video Doorbell" doesn't have relays on it.  But you could install relays in the mechanical room or elsewhere and wire it to the door strike and to an applicable Control4 processor.  Then setup custom buttons either in the GUI. or use "Custom Button 1" or "Custom Button 2" on the chime.  When these custom buttons are pressed, the system triggers the relays and opens the electric strike.  This is dependent if you have the wiring etc etc etc.
The DS2 has two relays built into the unit itself.  You can control electric strikes through the DS2 but it does require some programming.

Change the bulbs.  The instant change to level that you’re seeing is inherent to most led bulbs.
Nothing in C4 will permanently fix it, although could possibly alter it for a better effect.

This is where low voltage lighting systems will win every time.
