C4 User got a reaction from Neo1738 in DSC NEO Integration
I just spoke to DSC Connect24 support regarding integrating my DSC Neo into both Control4 and Connect24. Note the I have the TL280LE Communicator. When your central monitoring station is programming your communicator using Connect24, under the INTERACTIVE tab, they need to:
- set Integration over Ethernet
- Enter the C4 controller IP address
- set Notification port to 3072
- set Polling port to 3073
- set Real Time Notifications to ON
The above settings must be set by your Central Monitoring Station using Connect24. All the other parameters and keys necessary to complete the integration can be read at the keypad for integrating your C4 system into your DSC Neo panel.

C4 User reacted to rea in Control4 problems
The EA1 is definitely not obsolete--I have 2 of them running in my project and they were released in 2016 at the same time as the EA3. That being said, the EA1 is not necessarily the best controller to do multi-room audio with as it only has HDMI out and can only stream from one source at a time. It sounds like your tech/dealer is not communicating well with you or, possibly, misleading you and not doing a good job of programming. I would get in touch with one of the excellent remote programmers on here and have them take a look at your system:
@chopedogg88 and @AK1 are just two of the many great ones on here.

get a different dealer if you're not happy with your current one - or have one of us remote programmers do it right.

We are also (and I speak for iOS users) really really looking forward to having the intercom functionality embedded in the main C4 app!

Thanks @DatBear- I can assure you that we are all rooting you on and watching with interest to see what changes are coming after the 2 significant maintenance periods over the last 2 weeks. We also appreciate the improved communication from C4 and look forward to OS3.2.3 which is rumoured to be happening next week.

Outside looking in it's easy to see that the point of view appears that there's just one group that makes everything work. Because there's just 1 app that allows us all to interface with our homes but in reality there's a dev group for drivers, one for core controller work, QT, OvrC, Cloud Services, Android and iOS to name a few. Sometimes we all have a piece of the pie and we implement things at different times base on priorities for the group. But rest assured we are all moving towards the same goals and that's the best customer experience we can provide. It really is our passion. Thanks for hanging in there with us as we improve with every release.

I don’t get this comparison stuff at all, I will always love AppleTV over Roku regardless of what others says or US household buys, same with C4 will always like it over Savant or HA, that makes me what? It’s a personal taste and a set of other decisions … Chill pple chill …

Why are so many threads going this way recently… yawn…
We all have opinions and trying to claim they are facts (for effect, I presume) is pretty silly.
But here is a fact - my opinion is that C4 is a great system, has room to improve and based on my experience, it will continue to improve…

I’ve had C4 since 2008 and in multiple homes. My family has enjoyed the benefits of home automation since before most knew what home automation was. Although I have not seriously looked at options, I highly doubt there are much better systems that fully integrate the automation of a house on one platform.
Looking back 13 years, this is the first time I remember seeing this type of preview of what is to come from the C4 team. If this is any indication, I have to say I am really excited to see what will come from the new C4.
Great job C4. Keep it up.

This is the real question.
I must say, it really does seem like communication from Control4 is improving significantly! Great to see this.

thanks for those suggestions. I'm sure those are all awesome sounding speakers...but most of them look like speakers...what my client is looking for is something that looks more like art than a speaker. for example...these look promising, but probably extremely expensive (will check tomorrow)-

Anything that makes dealers life easier makes it cheaper for end users!
I think the video wall is good for end users

Keep in mind there are many remote dealers on this forum that are able to help the DIYer add drivers to your project and other dealer required tasks.

C4 User reacted to South Africa C4 user in C4 audio options
I was a big Apple Music fan but ultimately moved to Tidal in order to get really good integration with Control4. There are a number of posts (and views) on which streaming services play best with Control4… For what it is worth, my view would be:
1. Tidal and Deezer have by far the best integration.
2. Amazon music and Spotify are far behind.
3. Apple Music is the worst (ShairBridge is worth having but gives you nothing like the integration of Tidal / Deezer).

C4 User got a reaction from net_tech in Roller Blind Group
I think so. The Blind Group driver is not blind specific AFAIK. It simply goes on top of the specific blind drivers in your project. For example, I have Qmotion shades in my house. So I have a Qmotion blind driver for each blind in my system and one instance of the group driver for each group in the system. You can even combine groups into a new group. Works great.

2.10.2 supports the Control4 SiriusXM driver. 5 minute install. If you already use other native audio services, as you stated above, this is a few clicks remotely to install...

C4 User reacted to rea in New “Contemporary” Lightning
Wouldn't be cheap, but an OLED "keypad" would be pretty cool to have as an option. It would be nice to program/change the "button" names as you wish and have more dynamic A/V controls. Could see it being a more keypad-oriented version of the Neeo interface--very similar size too--which would be good for areas with heavy A/V use.

C4 User reacted to Topfox in LU1E Dead…power flickers
With the heat wave on the east coast we have been experiencing power flickers. Not enough for my generator to auto transfer though. Realized today that after this week I lost 3 - LU1E baluns during that time. I have all my gear on a surge protector, but not a UPS. Luckily I had 3 spare LU1E, so a quick power off of the matrix and LU1E swap fixed all 3 devices. Sucks though as I thought I was sitting pretty with 3 back up LU1E baluns, which now my backup supply is fully depleted.
Sigh….guess I need to invest is some UPS now. Rant over. 😕

C4 User got a reaction from nukenerd in Modern Forms Ceiling Fan
No issues at all. I really like these fans and will be installing a few more of them. They run silent other than you can hear the breeze on high. Only downfall is the driver is only one way - meaning if I turn the fans on with the Modern Form app C4 does not recognize their on. I have not yet contacted Modern Forms but do think they may be willing to update their driver if they knew about this issue - just hasn’t floated to the top of my priorities.
