  1. been a while since i tried the art mode driver, i recall when i first set up my frame it didnt work so will circle back and see if it works
  2. No sure the factory remote is not IR for most functions
  3. yes all is doable, most people that frequent the forum are much more educated as far as the nuances of automation. If you will mostly just be treating it as a regular tv it will be fine, you can also use custom buttons/experience buttons to run a macro to change the property then turn the tv on then back off to switch back and forth it is just no where as easy as most expect. More programing than I anticipated though not a lot. Just be aware that there are some minor quirks and if in artmode when it is time to go to bed you probably will not be happy
  4. Still overpowering when trying to sleep in my opinion. I like it pitch black and so did that customer
  5. Without some programing to make it turn off instead of going into art mode when it is turned off at night it is way too bright. The customer was ready to return it before I was sent out to resolve. The obnoxious part is to change from art mode to off you have to change that field then the tv has to be turned on then off in c4 from my experience. If someone has found a better way please let me know so I know for the future.
  6. I have one, no issues with hardwired IP control. Couldn't get the art mode universal driver to work but don't really care. There is a properties tab that tells the tv to turn off or go to art mode at power off. And I have changed that drop-down programmatically based on scheduler because at another company sold one for a bedroom which was a mistake

  8. Is the avr in the same room as the c4 controller? Do digital coax from the EA5 to the AVR and set the watch/listen for the video matrix feed to that HDMI input so it passes it through
  9. Phoenix connectors should be interchangable between manufacturers as long as you get the larger ones
  10. You will need a dealer to change the driver out. I would make sure the emitter placement is not the issue. What kind of cable box did you have and change to?
  11. Null modem db9 will flip pins 2 and 3 for receive and transmit. To the other part, I wish they were standard. It sure would make my life a lot easier.
  12. The only ones we integrated were infratech which had inputs that we put 0-10v dimmers on down in a utility room and they worked perfectly
  13. Haven't played with a ca-1 doubt they can flip rx/tx. Have you tried a null modem adapter? If not then that thing is totally the wrong pinout which it likely is. For the corresponding pins to line up and you will probably need a voltmeter and time to test pinouts and continuity
  14. What is connected to the 3 TV's? I have done a virtual switch in the main room to make the other 2 rooms watch sources available and use the room control driver to add the secondary rooms to the session when room 2 and 3' sources are selected. Volume control of the secondary TV's is not very fun with a handheld but with the app or touch panel is decent since sessions allow it to an extent
  15. Sounds like bindings are missing. If it worked previously and no longer there. Probably something your dealer needs to look at or refresh nav.
  16. Security reasons why it is giving you issues. I believe you can make macros at your own risk but know you might be opening up a security risk if someone gets your credentials. Also use routines to rename to open and close
  17. I am not in front of my computer but it sounds more like you only want to turn the light on and engage the timer when the door opens and the light is already off so the system assumes no one is in the kitchen. Taking to the next level is to put an occupancy sensor in the kitchen and the door only triggers the light if the sensor is dormant
  18. What kind of matrix? What is the resolution on the sat boxes in question? What kind of TV's? Any surround receivers in the system?
  19. Quickly replying from my phone but wanted to chime in Garage doors- I would run a cat to each wall button location as well as the motors. What network gear are you proposing to use? Tv locations I suggest versaboxes for a clean look, as well as digital audio baluns to haul the audio back to the head end especially if you are looking to go Samsung. Also you will need controllers at a few/all tv locations based on budget and preference to have zigbee/osd since you aren't going video distribution. 2 Cat6 to the sprinkler controller head end Landscape lighting? Generator? Shielded cat6/fiber/flex conduit to tv locations? More of a finish equipment discussion but battery backups for the racks
  20. Ordered and on its way to test. Will report back, a majority of the solutions I was seeing were commercial applications with high monthly fees due to advanced analysis that I wouldn't need though following someone through a floorplan would be really fun
  21. I have Google home but the concept is the same. I have 4 Chromecast audios in the rack. Named inside, outside, master bath, and garage. Then in programing of the matrix amp you can trigger when audio is present to turn a desired zone on and off. It works great, biggest downfall of using a Chromecast or echo is no metadata compared to using a Sonos connect or port. But a vast improvement over native music for voice control at the moment.
  22. Curious if anyone has done BLE beacons for occupancy
