  1. if you want it that bad, i would move it to a location where you can get a cat, then run that cat to the ea3, use audio baluns, cheap like 25 bucks, and connect the amp to ea3 audio in depending on your setup then go to a matrix or amp ive taken moldings off the wall to run wires for clients, hide it around a room under carpet, installed crown moldings. a professional can come up with something you may not see, add decorative half round molding to your floor, im not talking about wire mold.
  2. Roku TVs all for bedrooms or offices is what we do
  3. we use the kwikset locks, our clients like the ease of adding or changing codes from any touchscreen. They have also been very reliable for us
  4. Depends on what your doing, if you want your house truly automated i would do all rooms, you could have a scene running and have lights, music, and/or tvs turn on and off as you enter or leave rooms. closet doors turn lights on and off. kitchen, have lights, music start, while your in the kitchen. Timers going, etc. if you have a door lock, use a certain code to kick on the scene to begin. different codes can do different scenes, for different people or just your mood
  5. use domotz need a device that has domotz on it, on your network and then you can see and track all devices connected to the switch
  6. heres what you really want to do, and it doesnt matter what Waps they use, you need to find out how proficient they are with installing wifi, ask them what tools they use to set up the wifi. If they dont use Wispy or something equal then they are just guessing at where to place waps. a solid company will do a heat map and can give you a print out of the best locations, and how many waps your home needs in order to have proper coverage. i come across lots of takeover jobs and the 1st thing we do is check wifi coverage, and if there is anything that needs to be done with placement of waps and power settings. 90% the placemnt is poor, and improper settings in the waps. Most of us are AV companies 1st, with adding wifi to our systems, but not a lot of us are networking guys, some havent done crap to learn about wifi, they just drop in and expect it to work properly. Araknis is fantastic, i prefer the 700 series over the 810 as the 700 will go further, however if you have lots of parties, then the 810 is a better fit because of the 4x4 antenna beamforming is also nice feature, . however if you have a large house, you may need more 810 then 700. i do not like thier outdoor waps so we will install a wap inside of soffit outside or put one in a sealed weatherproof box. the point though is make sure whatever company you go with knows how to setup wifi, ask for a report they have done for your house. some companies may charge you, but take it off the price of the system if you buy from them, this process can take 2-3 hours to perform at your house, then time in the office to put the report together.
  7. Several browsers have discontinued the support of plugins. Update your Luma recorder to firmware v3.4.95 build 191127, to view your system remotely in Chrome, Safari, and Microsoft Edge. Chrome, Firefox, and Microsoft Edge To access your recorder remotely from a browser, port forward port 7681 on your router. Note: You cannot perform port translation. Both the internal and external port must be 7681. You do not need to append this port at the end of your URL as it does not replace your HTTP port. Example: If your HTTP port is 8042, your web address stays the same: e.g., MyHome.WirepathDNS.com:8042 Internet Explorer Some devices require Internet Explorer to be run using compatibility view. When accessing the Luma web interface while using compatibility view, some icons are misaligned. We recommend that the Internet Explorer compatibility view mode not be used when accessing the Luma web interface. Safari If you are using Safari version 11 or earlier, click here for the Safari plugin. With Safari version 12 and later, plugins are no longer supported. In that case, forward port 7681 on your router, or click here to download the Luma VMS i just installed a luma 510 nvr, and 710 turret cams connected to the nvr, i couldnt get the plugins to work for chrome, so i just used ie, and was late in the day and didnt feel like calling snap to see why. all the cameras were connected to the nvr, and i used 3rd stream for integrating with c4, and i was impressed with the quality within c4
  8. you can use a regular wap outdoors, as long as you can place it in a location it will not ever get wet, i have put them in plastic waterproof boxes, and they still perform extremely well, otherwise ive used the pakedge outdoor wap, and the clients that really low budget, an ubiquity ac-pro. or stick it up in the soffit also
  9. yup its true, i was told the same thing about not being able to adjust the power, had to move the wap pretty far away from the clients house so it wouldnt bleed into the house. it is directional. but it still shoots a pretty strong signal behind it making adjusting roaming tough. i like using araknis waps, but we avoid using the outdoor wap
  10. my suggestion is if it is most important to you to not lose status of your garage doors than why not just run a wire from the controller to your garage doors and install some honeywell garage door magnets. this will solve your issue. you can purchase the magnets on amazon for like 15 dollars.
  11. i would just delete it from the project, reinstall and run through the steps for setup again. pain yes,
  12. if you can run a cat wire from your controller to the the actual garage doors and install these magnets to track the the state of the door https://www.amazon.com/Honeywell-Ademco-958-Overhead-Contacts/dp/B0006M1I1W/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=honeywell+garage+door+magnet&qid=1586687809&sr=8-1 or you can buy the a Z2io and use the them on the contacts, but thats added costs you could also buy the tilt sensors then you can buy the garage door remotes to solder onto or the piece listed above with wires already soldered https://www.amazon.com/LiftMaster-893Max-1-Pack-Black/dp/B00IA2RXUU/ref=sr_1_6?crid=33YD0AOIHKCKW&dchild=1&keywords=liftmaster+remote+garage+door+opener&qid=1586687988&sprefix=liftmaster+%2Caps%2C181&sr=8-6 doing this you will never have to worry about a 3rd party driver you will also be able to use an experience button to control and show status of your garage door and yes you could go back to os 2 if you truly wanted to, its tedious but you can, however why would you? the enhancements os3 offers are very nice. sounds like your dealer is lazy, or not very knowledgeable. its your system, and it needs to be tailored and customized to your usage and enjoyment.
  13. have him call snap, they should be able to fix it, i just checked several client systems and not one is messed up like that
  14. which ip apple tv driver are you using, which apple tv do you have, and what is the os of the apple tv
  15. i havent played with ruckus, but i hear good things from those that know how to configure them, i played with ubuiquity and while they have a wap for just about everytype of install they do work well if they are properly configured, i also notice you need more ubuiquity waps to fill the dead spots and have complkete coverage, but again, you have to have a company that knows ubuiquity in and out because there tech support is online only. i do araknis all the time, and while i find araknis waps have a large coverage area with 700 and 500 series the roaming is not good since they removed the RSSI settings. the 810 and 510 are faster than the 500,700 series, but do not reach as far so normally a house with 2 700 will now need 3 of the 510 or 810, but speeds are blazing fast, agaim roaming is bad . i have used the luxul 1510 with controller, the speeds are good, more in range of the ubuiquity, but araknis will be faster. the roaming will be much better than ubuiquity or araknis. im torn i have all 700 in my home, all set up with a metageek analyzer and set up properly, my speeds are amazing, however the roaming is not great. i had in my home luxul and while the roaming was nearly perfect i was not happy with the luxul1510 speeds. im torn, but i did go back to araknis. in our clients house if we do control4 we install araknis, if we do urc total control we do luxul. thing is that i find is you can either chose speed, or reliable roaming. i havent tried ruckus yet, but thats on my to do list
  16. honestly if you dont know what to do, call an electrician, and be safe,
  17. go for a denon 4400, you wont be disapointed
  18. is your amp set to audio sense? trigger? or always on? if it is triggered whats the trigger setup and connection in composer?
  19. if you want to make things simpler for all devices to adopt the new dns you set in the router, you should set the dns under dns settings, but then go into where you set the dhcp range of ip addresses, this well helpo your dhcp devices adopt the dns, reboot of all devices is recommended.
  20. honestly araknis 700 series waps are fast, and if setup properly work great, however ive had great succuss with luxul 1510 waps with a controller, the roaming from wap to wap is much better than araknis," boy i hate saying it, but its true." if you have apple phones, they are known to not want to let go of an access points signal, so luxuls controller telling the device to let go and grab the next access point is mu ch better
  21. change the dns in your router, and then in ea5 and matrix, we had a similar problem and setting the dns to match everywhere fixed this issue, music would intermittlenly pause, for a few seconds and begin playing again. mainly pandora we use dns 8.8.8.8 amd 1.1.1.1, set the dns, reboot all the devices, and hope it fixes it
  22. not a fan of mesh networks, but after saying that, if you can hardwire each of the mesh extenders, make them waps, instead of extenders, ive seen the orbi system function very well
  23. i have a similar problem with a samsung tv and an ir driver, room off and the flasher doesnt even flash, but if i go into the c4 menu for tv, and do power off it flashes and tv turns off. i can delete the tv from the project, re add it and then a week or two later the same issue, and the same fix. ive called into tech support for logs, and no fix, replaced the Ea5 and still happening, figured maybe a corrupt driver or load, its a small project so i created another project and it still happens, still have logs running, and cant figure this one out. its also the correct driver for the tv. tried another driver and same results
