    That one is starlink specific.

Why don't you use a TP-Link Kasa outdoor smart plug.  Its designed to be used outdoors.

This should not work at all in this scenario, this is a security driver and the complete proxy simply isn't supported.

The driver is obsolete for a reason. But this is a work around I have had to do in the past.
Find the driver that replaces it in your my drivers folder. Delete the new one.
You will also need to terminal into the controller to remove the new driver if it was ever added to that project.
In composer right click on controller and select terminal. In the window follow these steps. Warning if you remove the wrong thing it could brick things so be careful.
    type "cd mnt/internal/c4z" press enter
    type "ls -all" press enter
You now have a list of all c4z drivers the controller has. find your driver and the folder
type "rm -r *folder name" press enter
    type "rm *drievrname.c4z" press enter
That will remove the old files. At this point reboot controller
This should remove all items telling composer it is obsolete. In composer search for your driver with only the local selection enabled.

The issue presumably is that the driver is based on an old proxy that isn't supported in 3.x
Unless there's a driver made for that panel under the new (well compared to) proxy, you're out of luck.

I understand your frustration with the DS, I had zero issues with it in OS2 Days, for the DS2 mini; as I have enough outdoor lighting; I’m also happy with it in OS3 era.
It’s not how good it looks, it’s how long it will withstand the harsh environment it’s installed @, in my country nothing of the fancy stuff lives like the DS, it’s 5+ yrs and only removed to upgrade to OS3! So sturdy and yes endurance matters to me the most! You can pick on C4 pitfalls but it’s just my experience and I stay away of troubled gears anyways!

Not on an open review platform, especially for a not 'open' app like the Control4 app. The only way to get a good average rating is to have verified users as the only reviewer. so your argument on this 'crumbles' again because that is not the case here. Other apps for systems similar to Control4 have their star rating in a similar range As C4 (between 3 and 4) - or in some cases they have reviews locked out/cleared altogether (Crestron).

Again, this is not about your issues with the Doorstation - but the 'app rating' is simply a silly reference point to use for peoples experience with the overall product brand, let alone for a singular product of that brand: that's apart from that it's not even a good reference point in this case for the app itself.

you can buy 3rd party harder and sometimes a driver and things will work.  that said you run the risk of that 3rd party shutting down/changing access and there goes your set up.
This sensor has native C4 Drivers

if you are worried about the elements, they can fit into this box which you can mount/tape onto your gate

no wires, non c4 branded hardware, native/free C4 drivers, no alarm system needed

Thanks for letting me know and I'm glad they are working on it
I am forever baffled by how poor C4 products are, especially considering the price.
Anyways, I appreciate the forum being here to help!

    OK... fixed.

Manually unregistering the controller through the customer portal and then re-registering through composer fixed it.

What I think that they fail to realize, is that whether they like it or not, a massive percentage of the folks that would buy these drivers are the people that want to manage and administer it themselves. Now, I realize Control4 has a dealer model and that's fine - but despite that dealer model these people still exist and leverage Control4. I feel like everyone who is publishing drivers to DriverCentral, and supporting DriverCentral in only allowing Control4 dealers to buy drivers or have an account with them, is missing out on a sizable amount of revenue. There's a number of drivers that I'd love to buy, but take the energy to develop my own solution despite it being more work because I can do it without involving someone else.

To add to this I don’t like not having access to or control over the licenses I’ve paid for.  The licenses should be associated with the project owner not the dealer.  I should be able to login into the drivercentral site and see what my dealer sees when it comes to my licenses.

My biggest issues are that they won't let ME buy drivers, and that my "DriverCentral" driver appears to be tied to one particular DriverCentral dealer, that I'm then forced to work with on anything I want from DriverCentral. I've got someone that has helped me with the one DriverCentral driver I have (which I was forced in to by Alan Chow leaving Houselogix and going over there) but I don't like it being dependent on any one specific person.

    Yep!
Also, you may already know this but I only mention it since all your examples use the "turn on" phrase. You can make some commands ALOT more intuitive by using Alexa Routines and having them trigger scenes. With routines you can program ANY phrase to trigger things, without the "turn on". You just have to be mindful of the phrase not sounding too much like a built in phrase or else it sometimes may trigger the built in functionality (like Alexa bye bye , would sometimes trigger what you want but other times you would have alexa reply to you with a bye).

So for example when I say "Alexa, next song". That runs the programming to play the next song on the station.
Hmm, never heard of Tidal. It's like Pandora ? What are the benefits over Pandora or Spotify?

I just wanted to give a shout out to their GREAT customer service. There are many outfits out there that make all sorts of drivers. But not every company provides customers service at the level of what I just experienced.
I have a Vantage Qlink system which is a bit outdated, but luckily I found a driver made by @Cinegration to hook it up to my C4 system. It's worked great for over a year. Then OS3 came and something in the update broke a main feature of the driver. I contacted Cinegration and they responded FAST. They worked with me over the next week to troubleshoot and fix the issue. The issue was a bit tough to pinpoint, but they went as far as having a phone call with me to help diagnose and remote into my system. Then they fixed it and it now works great again. I know it might sound like this is just "how it should be". But in my experience, good customer service like this is a rarity. Especially considering this is an OLD driver of theirs that I am guessing isn't even used by many people anymore.

Just wanted to update you guys. I got my hands on an iPhone to test things out and it worked with no issues. It turns out there is likely 2 bugs in the Android version. They are working on it now! Jakblak has been great.

Well, looks like you guys were right. Connecting the doorstation with a patch wire durectly to the POE worked. LUCKILY, connecting the doorstation to the junction box at the end of the driveway worked great as well. So the issue seems to be from the junction box to the keypad pole. The 25ft run should be easy enough to drag a new wire through, which I am planning on doing right now.

    Hey Timelinex!
Thanks for the shoutout and review of our customer service! Timely responses and providing solutions are very important to us, and we're so glad to hear that you were pleased with your interactions with Cinegration Development. We strive to make each driver we create the best that it can be, and as so many of us in the industry know, OS3 greatly affected how drivers previously interacted with Control4. We were happy to make any necessary updates to our driver so that dealers who use our products experience consistent driver performance and reliability. We hope to continue to serve you and other dealers alike with top-notch customer service!

    Best,

Unfortunately his look at the logs didn't really help, although I did appreciate that he took the time to do it. He looked at the logs and just confirmed that the logs say that the issue is that the DS2 wasn't responding the call, hinting at a network issue.... But again....If the NVR connects great and for that matter just a ping using CMD prompt connects.... the issue is definitely part software.
I sent him a message saying almost the same thing as my post. We will see if he has any feedback.
