Neo1738 got a reaction from BY96 in Portable Floor Fan
Yeah it's on here some where I think with regards to controlling a shower controller (most only have Alexa not c4 compatibility). Allowed me to pull that into C4. Anything Alexa you could set an Alexa routine and use Alexa for it instead of C4 in a pinch.

Neo1738 got a reaction from South Africa C4 user in Multi room audio
I actually set the volume up to join the room previous to it for a few (If x room media active join zone, else volume up) and also have a couple keypads single, double, triple tap joins rooms A to B, B to A, and B to A and C etc.

Neo1738 reacted to lippavisual in Lighting Scenes With Long Names
I would personally remove most of your wording. For instance, "Basement Bathroom", is a room, why have basement bathroom in the name of your lighting at all?

Neo1738 got a reaction from msgreenf in Best Sprinkler System For Control4 Integration
3 acres of grass and 9 flower beds....use irrigation for grass, city water for flowers ( so doesn't stain house) have septic so no waste to need 2nd meter. Rachio has been working perfectly for me.

Neo1738 reacted to cdcllc in Best Sprinkler System For Control4 Integration
In Florida, we call it "reclaimed water", and it's not potable. But it is cheap! The water is runoff from the rain and is stored all over in connected ponds, etc. Pretty extensive system.

Neo1738 reacted to RyanE in Best Sprinkler System For Control4 Integration
Well, when it's only $30/month (paid year round, although service is only from May 15 to October 15), vs. approx. $300/month for culinary water (for the size of my lot), I can put up with a *lot* of hassle...

Neo1738 reacted to South Africa C4 user in Tidal Playlists within Control4
My experience has been that playlists I create in Tidal appear in C4 under “Playlists created by me”. I then have to click on the playlist’s hamburger menu in C4 and choose “add to library” this copies the playlist from “Playlists created by me” to “playlists” in C4. The playlist is then available to access from programming etc. I have no idea if this is the normal way to deal with the driver but it has worked for me!

Neo1738 reacted to cnicholson in C4 EA5 controller upgrade to Core 5
Unless you have use for existing EA5, instead of replacing it with a Core5, get a CA10 instead and keep your EA5 in service. You'll see a much bigger boost in performance.

Neo1738 reacted to Topfox in Outdoor TV - Impact Resistant Screen
If you look at their materials for their 2023 version it says they support Control4, but I haven’t personally looked to see if there is a driver.

custom button agent
You would use the custom button to toggle a variable
in the scheduled event check variable state (true/false) before you run the event. Only runb if True

Neo1738 reacted to Brian Hamachek in Windows App / In-Wall Touch Screen Beta Test
I've created a new Control4 app for Windows PCs. It's intended to be run on a dedicated in-wall touch screen in Windows kiosk mode, but it can also be run as a normal app on any computer. It's intended to fill a similar role as the Control4 touch screens, but more responsive and better looking.
The app requires no drivers, no login, and no configuration. Simply run the app and it will locate your Control4 controller and connect to it automatically. It will use the same configuration as any other Control4 navigator. The app supports all your Control4 devices.
The app also adds new functionality. For example, if you have any Sonos devices, it provides a user interface to search Apple Music or Spotify and add songs to your queue. It also will display a QR code that allows your guests to add songs using their phones, even if they aren't on the same network.
If you would like to help beta-test the new app, please fill out this short form here: https://forms.gle/bXgGaujECV5Kiag97
Thanks!

Neo1738 reacted to eggzlot in Control 4 and Ethernet access
Well a remote dealer cannot help run wires, install wall plates, test wires, etc.
You can get some simple basic Ethernet testing devices off amazon and test each wire. On the back of the 24 port switch the cables dont seem labeled. Example - the cable going into port 17, do you know what room and which jack on the wall that powers?
the troubleshooting you can kind of do on your own if you are up for the challenge. It’s not rocket science with some cheap sub $100 tools. To me, if someone has dozens of Ethernet runs in the house, these testing tools are almost a required tool like a hammer and screwdriver to have in your house.
This is what I have and it has helped me diagnose issues. It could be as simple as the wall jack isnt even hooked up to anything, or maybe they didnt crimp the ends well and 1-2 wires are twisted, or maybe something like a mouse eat through the wire in the wall, who knows, but testing kits help

Neo1738 reacted to chopedogg88 in Music on C4
I always prefer to use services within the Control4 app, it works well and eliminates jumping around like you said. Personally I use Pandora Premium and SiriusXM...used to use Spotify but didn't like having to use the Spotify app and Spotify Connect. Not an Apple guy so don't use Apple Music or Airplay...but would sure be nice if Control4 could get that as a native service...but hey even Savant doesn't have it and their Pro hosts run on Macs!

It's strange that you say that (and I have heard this before), because my Nyce tilt sensors have been stellar.

Neo1738 reacted to RyanE in DS2 Call Telephone button
I don't think this is something you can set via settings on the DS2 itself or on the Properties page of the driver.
You can, however, attach code to the Phone button, and have that code cause the Intercom driver of the DS2 to make a group call, the same as the main button being pressed.
The name of the event for the 'Phone' button is 'Off-Hook' key pressed, and the programming you want to do is 'Start a group call', with the group selected in the dropdown as whatever phone group you want to send the call to (usually 'All'). The 'Start a group call' command is found on the commands page of the Intercom driver part of the DS2, not on the main DS2's commands page.

middle of night is not good. Early morning is best. Middle of night allows too much time for water to sit especially in your northern climnate. About 4am is when you want to water.

Neo1738 reacted to South Africa C4 user in Savant vs C4
While I agree 100% with the sentiment… I would say the percentages are a bit wrong… it would be the 0.1% who like to tweak and the 10% who get a poor dealer setup (my view - and this is not a dig at C4 or any of the dealers on this forum). Admittedly many of the 10% won’t find their way here.

Neo1738 reacted to eggzlot in Savant vs C4
I have a full 4,000 sq ft home 100% on c4 lighting. Minus my gripe with older hardware (from 2014) with sub par LED backlighting, the lights themselves just flat out work.
Lutron is nice because it is system agnostic, but I do like the single/double/triple tap of the c4 keypads. Adds tons of functionality that we use often.
