    Happy Christmas everyone.
To all those who celebrate Christmas, I trust that this Christmas will be a meaningful one for you and your families as we remember the reason for the celebration,  God bless.
Thanks to everyone on this forum for your input and online friendship over this last year as we have shared the passion of home automation and, particularly, everything that Control4 can do.
May 2024 be a great year for you all.

Got my Halo and Core1 setup today. The Halo sat on the charging base about 16 hours before I had time to set it up with the new project. Obviously I haven't had it long enough to comment on battery life. Will know more soon on that as the charging base is not adjacent to our normal chairs for watching TV -- it will get left off the charger soon enough. I don't have uAPSD as an option on my WiFi either.
New remote coupled with an entirely new project, so I would assume that impacted the Halo. The project was still being tweaked after the Halo was added. A few hours later and it seems to be responsive and stable.
The screen is nicer than I expected. Not being a touch screen, I was skeptical but it was very easy to read. We never accessed Dish Hopper DVR media directly before because the SR-260 was too hard to read. Now we will use that feature. I do think this media list UI could be better. Since it is not touch screen, I think it could be a lot denser and there needs to be some sort of animation or feedback when scrolling down the list. The only way to see that you have changed episodes is to read the recording date.
Maybe they are trying to use the same display of the media as will be needed for a the Halo Touch. I'd rather see more with less dead space. I get it for the Touch.
Siri works as advertised. Had to turn Siri off and back on in the AppleTV to make it work. After that, no issues at all. I'll be happy to put that tiny Siri Remote in the drawer.
Very hopeful. I see a lot of potential.

I can't speak for others but my drivers will continue to work with either a black wire license or a driver central license. Your black wire license key will be transferred to driver central when my driver's relaunch on driver central

Totally agree with the improved speed.  Connection to my Chime camera when I get a notification over cellular or wifi is night and day faster.

I must say that I am impressed that @Keith made his first post ever on these forums to deal with a customer complaint.  Kudos to Total Hone Technologies.

@NYC Never Dies - your experience sounds terrible (and I acknowledge that I am basing my comment on one side of the story).   You cannot go wrong with Epic Systems.  They have done good work over the years.  I am currently dealing with them on a possible upgrade to my system and I have used their drivers in the past.  Equally,  I would suggest you take Keith up on his offer and (at least) have a discussion.  For the CEO to take an interest in a problem (real or perceived) is always positive.
    Good luck!

This is the right answer. I went absolutely bonkers for 6 months troubleshooting this exact issue and enabling Simple (despite the driver docs making it sound like a leper) fixed everything. Three months in and I haven’t had a panicked pissed off call since.

PorterTX got a reaction from DLite in Chime functionality without an NVR
@DLite I have a Chime POE without an NVR (looking to eventually add cameras with an NVR).  Currently I can view live real time video using Intercom Anywhere or Camera view from my T4, C4 App and most of my EA controllers using the Camera button.  I say most of my EAs as for some reason my EA5 only wants to pull a static image while the EA1s will pull a live feed but sometimes I do have to select cameras and back out to select again to get a live feed.  The C4 Intercom Anywhere is the app you need to use for live dialog if you want to talk to somebody while they are at the door.
Using Composer you can setup push notifications with still shots when motion is activated on the Chime.  Using the History button in the C4 app or elsewhere you can pull motion activated events and watch short replays.  I believe those are stored on the C4 cloud for about 2 weeks so you can go back and view things in the past without the use of an NVR.  I think the biggest drawback at the moment when not using the NVR is the storage limit (2 weeks vs how ever many TB of storage your NRV has) as well as not being able to pull full live video from any point in the past unless I am just not aware how to do it. Meaning I can only pull 6 second videos of when motion was activated as opposed to watching hours of full replay from the past. Hope that helps.

PorterTX reacted to IntrinsicGroup in Intrinsic AppleTV Driver NOT compatible with TVOS 15
Please note the original poster has omitted a crucial part of the message sent out to dealers... that being that tvOS 15 requires a new driver due to a change in Apple protocol (which has also broken their own MRP based apps and many other third party licensed products which use it).  We continue to support all of our Apple driver range (1-3rd Gen, tvOS13-14 and now the new tvOS15 driver).  We deliberately market our drivers by the tvOS's that they support for clarity.
As the rest of the email states, we already have a new driver in production that uses the new protocol currently employed in the tvOS 15 Public Beta. This driver will require final testing once tvOS 15 is released to the public. As we do not know the date tvOS 15 will be released we cannot release the new driver instantly, and are therefore suggesting auto-update is turned off so all clients can keep complete control of their ATV via Control4 by temporarily remaining on tvOS 14 or below.
Once the new driver, utilising the new protocol is released this will be a free upgrade for all users of our existing driver.

Original Email sent out to all dealers using our existing Apple TV (tvOS13 and 14) Driver:
Immediate action required: Ensure auto-update is turned OFF on all Apple TVs that are using an Apple TV MRP Driver.

As you may be aware Apple currently have tvOS 15 in public beta, and we expect it to be released as final version software at the beginning of September.

This beta software is using a completely new protocol for the Apple TV, with Apple themselves no longer using MRP on their own apps. This new protocol is not compatible with any driver that uses MRP including our existing Apple TV drivers for Control4, Crestron, Elan and RTI. Please therefore ensure auto-update is turned off on all Apple TV devices that use our driver to ensure control continues uninterrupted for your clients.  MRP will continue to work on all systems that remain on tvOS 14 or below.

    What happens next?

Our team are already working on drivers for all platforms that will work on the new protocol currently being tested in the tvOS 15 public beta.

These drivers will need to be tested on the final release Apple TV software once it goes live, which is why it is important all Apple TVs remain on tvOS 14 or below whilst we carry out our final internal testing.

Once we have finished testing the drivers for the new protocol they will be rolled out FREE OF CHARGE for the first six months to anyone using our existing Apple TV drivers for tvOS13 and 14.

Can I still buy your existing Apple TV drivers?

Yes, we will continue to support all existing Apple TV drivers and they will work as expected on all Apple TV devices running tvOS 13 or 14. If you decide to update to tvOS 15 in the future you can download and install the new tvOS 15 driver (when available).

When will your tvOS 15 driver be available?

We can't give a fixed date for this as we do not know when Apple will release the new software. Once tvOS 15 is released we will complete internal testing as a priority and then push it out to our beta testers for final checks.

We would like to assure you that releasing our tvOS 15 drivers as quickly as possible will be our top priority. You will receive another email as soon as the drivers are available.

PorterTX reacted to booch in Porch Candles -- Finally!
Figured I'd post my satisfaction with a recent integration. Have 8 flameless candles on my porch that natively run on IR (which is unreliable given a fireplace, line-of-sight limits, etc.). Thought about Z2IO but didn't want to have wires across the floor (either for power or connectivity). Searched for an RF alternative product but no dice -- so made my own...
Already had a Bond Bridge, so bought a few ($11/each) 433mhz receivers on Amazon and built/hid three of them into the candles themselves (soldered to PCB) while running small wires out for nearby control. Totally invisible and finally have these things on scene and discrete control via keypad and phone! At some point I may have to wire a photosensor to establish state, but for now, the 433mhz is so reliable the variable stays true.
    Pics for clicks, ha:

Thanks.  The automation is easy using the navigation agent.  Would take a dealer 5 minutes - Basically, WHEN (doorbell is pushed), the navigation agent selects the Chime camera and the  required EA navigator.
I just wanted to ensure that the Chime camera is available like any other camera would be in these conditions.  Just looking at the driver now, and I can see that it is.  Unless any of the hive mind here know of any caveats...

Success!! Thank you all especially @ILoveC4 I don't fully understand the programing difference between the two examples that "worked" but by going through the suggested one above the results were much better (I did deselect the fully customized toggle and chose the 3rd option).  The backlight is much stronger and way more consistent. Before the lights were a mixture of white, blue & green even though I was only selecting white.  Now they are all solid and bright white. It is funny how the little things can bring you joy..ha!
