tekki70 got a reaction from RyanE in Comcast - does IP work now?
ip control works and now if your box has the latest software voice control works with halo. i have been controlling my xfinity flex box for 4 years and has never lost ip control. you just need to have an older xfinity remote with the A button to setup the ip control and then complete the directions to enable

save your playlist as a preset for spotify connect
add room control driver and select that preset, as a cycler
    create your voice scene
add a default room volume permentant in room control. or if you dont want that, add it in programming and tie it all together

we mainly use an ea input if we have triads spread throughout the house, this helps get a source to the areas that arent connected from our matrix. the only issue you will really run into is if your trying to use a video and audio source. there will be a significant delay. so we mostly only use audio sources but will do a cable box if they wanted to listen to a game where there isnt video.

if you dont want any delay to the tv then control it with RS232, it works flawless, we have many out there without issues being controlled ip, but we have had a few that kept losing its pairing so we switched them to RS232 control

honestly ive seen this soo many times with araknis 310 routers, without the perfect fix. Settings you have to check of course is STP settings in your core switch, and make sure your core switch has the lowest ip address of all your devices. next would be to static address your dns in the router in 2 places. the main system settings and then in where you set your dhcp pool, this way it forces all devices to use the static address and not the router address. since its xfinity i would try 75.75.75.75 and 75.75.76.76, that has worked for us. before doing these settings i would get calls that all wired deices have internet, but wifi devices say connected without internet. A reboot of the router would always fix it, but thats just a bandaid. since doing those settings i have not had calls from those clients.

i would do 3 cats and a coax, to each tv location, any room you planning on putting a gaming pc or game system i would run a cat for that as well.
if you can do HDMi i would do hdmi to some tvs  so you dont have to rely on Baluns
are you going to have local equipment tvs, or in a rack,
you can always run packages to closets in the rooms, then run an hdmi and a cat from the bedroom closets to the tvs and keep the equipment in a closet
would wire for a wap just outside the family room, and one wap for just  outside bed 4
2  cats for each touchscreen 1 to use 1 as a backup
wire for speakers in every room but bury the ones in the ceiling you arent going to use now, at least you will have it there if you need in the future
i would run a fiber to main tvs for future possibilities
outdoors i would run a wap, tv package and 2 14/4 if you plan outdoor speakers.
    1 cat per camera location
1 cat anyewhere you may put a video doorbell
2 cats to the garage 1 pair per door control and 1 pair per magnets
run a few extra of everything to the attic as spares, or put a 2" conduit from the attic to the basement for future low voltage

We do take overs all the time, our project manager always goes out and reviews the site and has a discussion with client at no charge, then we send out one of our top techs to look over the system, make recommendations, update if possible and charge for our time. It may not be a huge profit, but it is a client gained and if we can get the system more user friendly and stable its a plus for everyone. We gained a client and hopefully an avenue to gain more clients, word of mouth is our main part of our business. Trust me when we come across these take overs there is always a reason, its either the system is just not done correctly, the install was poor, the programming was terrible, the design was garbage, or the client was a true pain in the ass. Yes there is always a reason. We are a Gold Dealer, We may never be a pinnacle dealer, we dont strive for a label, we strive to make all the clients we have happy, within reason we do what we can. We have 1 dedicated service guy, the rest are techs and if we have to we will pull a tech off an install to take the load off our service tech. Our  main servicer is done remotely and then a truck is rolled out if it cant be fixed from our office. The true story of why a dealer and client part ways is no concern of ours, just getting the system functioning properly is. However, if its a totally unruly client, sometimes the headache isnt worth the takeover but we still try. We also need to make the system serviceable so yes we will require a rack to be rewired or parts to be included into the system for our service needs and yes it sucks to tell a client he has to pay again to have us make a rack serviceable because 90% of the problems we come across are from a poorly installed rack, crappy designed system. Like any other field, there are guys, and companies that care about thier work, and thier are guys and companies that care about the $$$ overall.
And its just my opinion that C4 should have some sort of accountability to dealers, they should have a way that if they receive so many complaints they should drop those dealers. Its a very good product and should have a way to weed out poor dealerships.

honestly if all your doing is streaming, i would just put 4k apple tv behind each tv. would save thousands, less probability for issues, and then you can invest that saved money in more advancements of the system

add the shairbridge driver, try to connect to that, if you can connect and play music to that than nothing wrong with the controller, so another question is just check your all your bindings again. try another phone, make sure your on same wifi if you dont have 4sight. after that im stumped i would have to see the actual project
