Nice, this is the 3rd or 4th lighting "generation" for NA - yeah great tech, looks good and I'm sure works really well.
Meanwhile in Europe Control4 is present for about 8 years and hasn't even managed to provide a single generation of its light switches that actually fit customers expectations and blends into the designs over here - with such a great product, technology wise, this really is an epic fail.
I have talked to numerous Control4 dealers and 2 Control4 employees over the last 3 years and all of them admit that their own lighting products "just don't sell" - the reason is simple and very easily solvable:
Control4 face plates, which are necessary as you can't use other key-caps, do not fit to any design sold over here (plugs etc). Also the faceplates are only available in 1 or 2 gang option even though as much as 5 gang is common.
All it needs are keycaps and a trim ring compatible to the standard face-plates measurements (55 or 50mm) and all of a sudden control4 lighting products are compatible to numerous design lines of face-plates
The solution is so simple that I guess I have to buy a different HA system when I renovate my place in the next year or two....
PS: and no, the puck switch is not an option as it just doesn't fit into any regular sized box, just too big with cables and all

Zigbee 3 module for all the goodies out there

More flexible GUI with HTML5 pages (floor pan etc)

Web based control for PC via Browser

Web based media management, like Emby or plex

Compatibility for European system 55 faceplates with matching KeyCaps - Noone buys the current line because it just doesn't blend in and it does not have options for 3 or 4 way gangs - it's just a little plastic piece come on!!

Well just from a technical point of view it is correct that savants controllers are much more powerful than the ones from Control4 - since Apple doesn't have a good track record when it comes to quality of their hardware and customer service (GPU issues, flexing cases etc.. "your holding it wrong" .), so using Apple is not directly an indication of high quality HW....

Ok, that would be 8GB, combined with the processing speed of the CA10 I would good for 10+ years 😉 - with my only 360 instances/devices in the project.

I am still using Kodi in conjunction with Emby server. It just works for years now, Emby server never crashed once and is easy to use.
It always supsrises me that I seem to be the only one using it here...

The drivers on the Rollease automation site are the v2 Annex drivers.  You would have to check the versions against those in the C4 driver database but, looking at the versions on the Rollease site and going from memory, I believe the ones in the C4 database are more recent.

No not that I know of.
You can program custom buttons to select/cycle through modes but it won't show that on a C4 GUI

It is a strong and a weak point of contro4.
On one side it'll always look the same.

On the other side you cannot have flooe plans showing open windows, lights, custom stuff like water levels solar and so on....

Level of quantum confusion is reached, Vince account posts that Vince isn't here anymore, which can mean multiple meanings, then someone posts that he "passed away", which doesn't contradicts the post made by Vinces' account and now Vinces' account posts that he alive and well - damn I need a strong drink now to get that sorted , sadly I am at work and alcohol isn't allowed...

I think the advice was well expressed by @eggzlot
"Find a dealer here ok working with used hardware you source on your own pay them your “consulting fee” to lay it out and diagram and make sure you get what you need look at classifieds here or eBay and buy used gear"

No one will provide HW at cost, that's wishful thinking - kinda like if you bring kerosene to the gate and ask if they'll fly you for free then...

You'll find dealers here that might be willing to give a discount for HW pricing if you wire it up and they do the Control4 setup remotely - depending on what they charge you can save quite some amount compared to getting it all done by a dealer.

Both approaches have advantages and disadvantages.
For the half DIY approach it mainly comes down to that you have a lot of work to do by yourself and you can't complain to anyone but yourself if something is wrong as you do the planning and installing.

If that would be the only thing missing for 240v regions it would be great...
    Another example:
faceplates and KeyCaps for lighting products have absolutely no matching design and color for anything that is commonly used in Europe - all Control4 would need is wider KeyCaps to accommodate 3rd party standard 55mm faceplates of which there are like 100 different designs.

Or general innovation: something like this:

    That's really cool

I’ve moved all my Rollease shades/motors from the original pulse hub to the new version 2 Pulse hub and have the the new V2 drivers from Annex4 (free) running on OS 3.1
The design of the hub is beautiful and I don’t think anyone would have a problem with it out in the open.  The new drivers provide IP control (by 2.4 wireless or Ethernet) so you no longer have to connect the hub by RS485 serial.  The hub boots very quickly and individual motors can be set up very quickly in the ap without having to re-pair motors by physically pressing buttons on the shade/motor (though that is an option) - you just use the remote to initialize the motor with the ap.  (I did 14 motors in about 20 minutes).  Not being tethered to a serial port on a C4 controller has allowed me to move the hub to a more central location and discontinue use of the Rollease signal repeater.
There is one driver per hub and one driver per motor.  The hub driver will self discover motors which makes set up easy.  Motor names are now exposed making the bindings easy for the dealer.  The current versions of the V2 drivers (0.57 and 0.55) look/function like the v1 ones (the documentation hasn’t been updated though).   Note - if you use the C4 shade group drivers you will need new instances after the V2 motor drivers are installed or the selected group members will not “stick”.  Don’t know if this is a C4 or driver bug, but a simple fix (other than having to redo all the programming)
There are some small glitches on the early hub firmware (I’m reasonably confident the issues are with the hardware and the Pulse 2 ap and not the C4 drivers) that I’m working with Rollease support and development to understand and run down.  The Annex4 drivers still do not support calling defined scenes or fire event(s) on battery state (e.g. low/dead battery) which would be great functions to have and there is one issue I’ve found that could be either a hub hardware or driver issue (or maybe both) that comes into play if moving motors from a near open or near closed state.  I hope these can be identified/addressed quickly.
Some of my tests seem to show improved motor-hub communication over v1 but I’m not sure yet if that’s reality or my imagination though grouped motors seem to operate more smoothly together.

Disadvantages of Kaleidescape and Zapiti is that for LiveTV one need an extra set top box.
Kodi can handle that as well, that's why I still use Kodi even though Kodi sometimes has bugs, but overall I would say it's pretty solid

I will. If that's the case it's a bug that need fixing and not an IR workaround
