ERDrPC reacted to Neo1738 in Intrinsic Dev - Tesla Driver for Control 4
I use it in conjunction with Shivram Paw's calendar driver. Reads my work calendar starts a timer at start of my shift, 10 min before the end of my shift the HVAC turns on for me. I work rotating shifts at multiple locations so just doing the simple location feature in Tesla app won't work.

ERDrPC reacted to booch in Mobile (Kid-Watching) IP Camera
Thanks, man!
We use it so much, I recently upgraded it/did a v2 -- now using a Shelly Uni as the control/status radio and a Vonets VM5G as the online/video radio, which allows me to measure voltage/battery level (for alerts) and stream 4K with audio at massive distances, respectively. We usually keep ours in the woods behind our house and it triggers when our backyard cameras sense a line cross in that direction, then it incrementally stays on with continued motion (with a 5 minute base). Battery has been lasting ~2 months even with my kid out there seemingly everyday, which is great. Such a nerd project, ha.
For fun, below is my new icon (off state) with the battery meter. I get an alert when it goes low, of course!

ERDrPC reacted to steadmjd in Multi-room Audio
My dealer was troubleshooting my system today @ $125/hr. He tried telling me the matrix was dead. I had audio coming from it 20 mins after he left.
The amp is not set to global input

ERDrPC reacted to RebelPro in A good RGB LED Control solution for Control4 is there
@jackstone
Does a generic DMX driver exist that I can program for more advanced lights? Is there a data table I could fill out to patch and program features? For example, I have a couple moving head lights from my touring days sitting around. This fixture is 24 channels, with features (pan/tilt, dimmer, effects wheel, color wheels, etc) between ranges of DMX values. I also have some new pixel addressable LED strips that I'd like to bring in. It has a standalone controller with a show already programmed on it's microSD. To trigger the show, I need to send DMX to a certain channel and select the show by sending a certain value, programmed in it's software. I can hit it from my small light controller, but I'd be really cool if I could trigger the show directly from C4 with the rest of the LEDs.
TL;DR: Looking for a generic DMX driver not locked to 4 channels; I have light toys with more channels I'd like to play with.

ERDrPC got a reaction from South Africa C4 user in announcement vs communication agent
Thanks to an awesome Aussie dealer who held my hand thru my ineptness. Turned off the auto call group from the driver. Configured the 4 call groups and nested the programming for each into my current programming.

Any news on the battery level driver (?) that we briefly saw previewed in one of the 3.24 release videos ??

Straight hook up to a water line, though the one for my steam shower, so I figured a drop from concurrent use would be rare No pump -- mine are at supply level/low pressure. I may try one in the future but, honestly, for 6 nozzles, it seems pretty good And yeah, the valve is just for on and off -- placed it in my conditioned crawl so I could winterize the outdoor segment -
ERDrPC reacted to tmj4 in Carrier Infinity Driver
A couple of us have been working with Carrier and their dev team to begin development on a driver for Carrier Infinity since about July/Aug. Carrier presently has no internal owner of their Dev platform/API so responses can take a few weeks at a time. The application process to access this SDK is quite thorough and not trivial.
We are in the final stages of applying and waiting to hear the status of our application to begin development for about a month now.

ERDrPC got a reaction from eggzlot in Orro and c4 - single gang touchscreen
I just stumbled upon Orro. This thing looks awesome and has c4 connectivity.
https://getorro.com/integrators
It is swipeable.
I wonder if this is the solution for a TS in an area where there is only Single gang room. I would like to know if double tap/press&hold possible
What do you guys/girls think??

ERDrPC reacted to booch in Porch Candles -- Finally!
Hey, all -- flattered there's interest!
As I explained in a PM or two, I'm in the process of redoing them for permanent use, as the current ones were more of a first cut/proof-of-concept and would be annoying to maintain, e.g., separate batteries for receiver and candle. Therefore; probably better to wait for my update and/or follow my plan vs. current...
My permanent design, subject to testing it and it working as expected, will be:
Candles from Restoration Hardware, OEM is Candle Impressions/Sterno Every size is identical on the inside, so to speak This 433mhz receiver from Amazon This power converter from Amazon Tested on my bench that the receiver needs slightly higher voltages Wire, solder and glue/sealant (for connections) By doing it this way, I can use the candle's original/easily accessible 2x D cell batteries to power both the candle and the receiver. My rough math on power consumption suggests it should go for about a year with standard alkalines (longer with lithium), which IMO is easier than charging or otherwise adding more complexity.
Happy to report back/verify the above works and/or do a little writeup when my power converters come.

ERDrPC reacted to Neo1738 in See doorbell Video on TV
Yup create a macro for each room you want this to happen. Then on doorbell push
Execute Macro Den
Execute Macro Master
etc etc.
You will need a snapshot driver dedicated for this purpose as well. I have each room hit the pause button, take a snapshot of source for TV, then switch to the NVC/Cameras source, then one room hits the doorbell camera #9. After a 30 second timer snapshot returns each room to original source or back off if that is how it was before. I don't have it hit play because likely I won't be back in that room. I also programmed stuff like "? If theater is on flash lights 3x" instead of source switching. ?If foyer lights are off and time is night turn them on to 30%. World is your oyster with C4 if you're willing to learn how to program it.

ERDrPC reacted to control4user007 in Chime Doorbell and T4 Reviews?
Curious to see if anyone has found (or would be willing to post) some demo's of the t3 vs t4? And maybe a live demo of the chime being answered on a t3/t4 (curious to see PQ, audio quality and any lag, etc.).
I've seen the marketing videos, but interested in real world performance.

ERDrPC reacted to booch in Built-In Patio Misters
Not the most complex from a C4 integration perspective, but thought I'd share my built-in patio mister project.
Basically, I combined a solenoid with a C4 switch, hid all the tubing/works (sucked) and dressed up the nozzles with repurposed stainless trim parts.
Pretty happy with it -- and so is my wife, which is key given my DIY obsession, ha -- hope ya'll like!
(Edited to include pics instead of video, below.)

ERDrPC got a reaction from Hp98173 in Standalone access keypad options
Looking to swap out my external garage door opener keypad with something c4 compatible.
Need:
Wall mountable, battery operated, water resistant/proof
Idea is to use separate codes for each door, but also trigger other programming if other codes entered.
Eventhough I have no August locks, can their keypad be used for general access control?

ERDrPC reacted to SY3 in Blindster Blinds - Remote - Bond Bridge won't work
Assuming you're getting the Automate Pulse 2. Found it here https://www.avoutlet.com/window-treatments/shade-components/motorized/remote-controls/rollease-pulse-2-mobile-device-interface/. I ordered a lot of my shade parts from them and they have been great to work with.

ERDrPC reacted to jfh in Blindster Blinds - Remote - Bond Bridge won't work
Yup. That’s where I got mine.
Pulse V2 has been a significant improvement over v1. With the Annex drivers the shades just work. I’d like to see some minor improvements in the drivers but using the Rollease motors saved me a boatload of money.

ERDrPC reacted to JSTRONG in Program announcement for Yale lock based on users code
OK here are the steps.
Get the black wire text-to-speech for a realistic voice
Create the macro
Create the programming to run the macro when a specific user unlocks the door.
I do this to nice custom greeting for my crabby 16 year old. It doesn't acutally cheer her up but it least it does play her tunes when she unlocks with her code

ERDrPC reacted to Neo1738 in What Did You Automate Today?
Forgot to add I got a few extra kasa outlets and automated if the sewage ejector pump for the basement loses power it cuts water to the house so people can't really screw stuff up. Also put ones for the water shut off valves that if power to them goes off I get notified.
