chopedogg88- create a scene in the Caseta app and have an advanced lighting scene call that Lutron ID- your popcorn with disappear completely.

ILoveC4- there is no double tap option in Lutron except for Homeworks. If you want to try this off a Pico in Caseta, you can leave that button unassigned to any loads in the Caseta app. Set up a variable and have the Pico button programmed to cycle through the variable. Each number gets a different scene, and then resets to off. Homeworks calls this a sequential. Using this in an ancient RadioRA2 scenario and even have the LED readout in RA2 following via programming, but the rest of the family had a hard time dealing with the change when I made it!
You could run Caseta for the switching/dimming/fan control, and run C4 keypads for all the programming functionality and the Zigbee mesh. And make sure to get the SmartBridge PRO through distribution, jackstiffer is right- the HD SmartBridge (no PRO) does NOT integrate at all.

yeah it works pretty well, the only thing you will notice is that if you create a scene in Control4 consisting of several Caseta lights, you'll notice a "popcorn effect" when you activate that scene...where all the lights won't come on/off together, they are kind of staggered in an unpredictable manner, because of the way that Control4 has to talk to the Caseta Bridge.  Not a big deal, but something to be aware of if that kind of thing bothers you.
and obviously it does take longer to setup because you have to define the lights in both systems, and then link them together, but not a huge deal.  and of course you won't get the zigbee mesh you would get with all C4 switches.

Just an update... I deleted the control4 remote and hub from the iOS  Home app, restarted the Apple TV, and then repaired with the OS 3 app (initially set it up on a 2.10.x control4 app) and it seems to be working again.  Worth a shot if your having issues.

Thanks everyone.  I was able to get it working with the beta that dropped yesterday.  Had to pull the appletv's out of the rack to get them all upgraded but they now work.

I totally agree that Charlie is great and I don't think there's a better fit for CTO at Control4, and he's done wonders in the time he's been here (getting OS 3.0 out the door with a level of quality that was required), but I'll also say that Martin Plaehn as CEO took the company up a lot of notches during the time he was leading the company, and without Martin, we wouldn't have Charlie.

I'm looking forward to seeing how John Heyman leads the combined company.
From what I've seen, the whole SnapAV team is very forward-thinking, and I have high hopes for the future.

P.S.  Nothing I'm saying in this post should be construed to be an official communication of SnapAV+Control4, but I'm guessing they wouldn't mind me saying it...

Thank you chopedogg88. Changing the zigbee channel seems to have fixed the issue. Hopefully the effects are long lasting.

Perhaps some other wireless device was introduced into your home and is causing interference. Or some other zigbee device that they were connected through has fallen offline. I wouldn't trust the signal indicator in Composer.

You could try changing the zigbee channel and see if that helps, it certainly may if the issue is being caused by interference.

drro reacted to jakblak in How do you like OS3 so far?
    Hi @GSC4Home,
As we were evaluating the 3.0 development timeline there were certain features that had to be cut to ensure that critical functionality and overall quality was baked into our initial release.  Unfortunately, "Dedicated Mode" was one of those features.  Nobody likes when features are cut, including ourselves, but we felt that with the option to enable "Guided Access" (Enable Guided Access) on an iPad that our time would be better spent adding critical features that iOS doesn't provide by default.

With that said, we're always sensitive to customer requests and if this is a highly-desired feature relative to other requests it may make a return.

I have seen a Beta version of the app (not sure if I should have seen this, nor am I sure how far we are away from an iOS app update) but I can say that from what I saw, it looks to me like the next version of the app will load up on a local network in about 1/3 of the time that the current app takes... In short, I am not in the know, but do believe that this will be resolved soon! Those in the know are probably constrained from commenting.

According to what I've read, it will work as long as you do not upgrade to 'Works with Google Assistant' or until Google decides to end 'Works with Nest support' (latest articles show they will keep servers up to support it for a while longer, but who knows).

drro reacted to Matt Lowe in Recommendations for cheap HDMI matrix? (4K60, 8x8, 18 Gbps, etc)
if you want to true 4k with little compression. its worth the money to pay for their compression. remember 4k hdr is 18 gbps and the cable you are running it on maxes it on 10 gigs. if you dont care about color accuracy and sound quality then these cheaper ones will work. But wait theres more hdcp 2.2 is sensitive to say the least so expect to fight getting a picture for sensitive source like Apple tv and roku has been getting worse lately too.

I had this problem previously but it seems to have vanished on the new official Apple TV driver (using the Apple Bridge). I assume that’s you are using one of the older drivers?

I too really miss this as it was really handy that it stopped the iPad going to sleep so was more like the C4 touchscreen. I have an iPad in every room as a remote and to keep turning it back on is a nuisance. Also, you could leave it on the cameras and see if someone was coming up the drive.
The guided access is more to keep the iPad in one app but does not keep the screen turned on.
Anyone know if the dedicated mode is hidden somewhere?

To be fair, this update greatly reduced the functionality of the C4/Sonos integration. C4 moved to the official API and lost the ability to browse and search music services.
Because of this, many people were slow to update, including myself. However at this point, the functionality of the old driver is going away so the new, official version is really the only option. The old "unsupported" one continued to work for quite a while.
