    That's a neat implementation!
Honestly, I would just like to see the navigation agent have an option to send screens to 'home' - that could then simply be invoked after a set time to 'clear' any such issue. In fact I'll add that to the feature request right away...

If you get a NVR with HDMI out and use distribution of video sources you can do this. Otherwise will need something that integrates directly.

Which is too often a big part of the problem: that other device/party needs to be willing to play ball.
Don't get me wrong, I certainly hope many if not all of them will.

But the bigger question is what actual devices will they be able to control.
Honestly to me the Halo as a 'google home/alexa' alternative endpoint isn't all that interesting. That overall voice service as well integration is rather limited.
Where voice would/will shine is the ability to voice control/select very specific things like 'Show me the latest episode of [xyz]' or 'Start [insert movie title]' or 'Go to channel [123]'
Xfinity would be the next 'device' that comes out AFAIK, but will we have Roku voice support? Shield/AndroidTV? What about all the other set top boxes across the world? Will Xfinity only work on Comcast, needing specific driver development for other providers that use the same hardware?

I would disagree that remotes are "consumable" devices. They should last 10-15 years without serious malfunction. Basic TV remotes have been working for longer than that. Now ones with built in batteries might need battery replacement but the remote itself shouldn't need replaced unless you want to replace it.

IMHO Harmony was great tech for the early 2000's but not for 2020's

    This is factually incorrect.
The Harmony remote's hardware and software would not be terribly useful for Control4.
Harmony's remote hardware capabilities are terribly dated, and their software would not be even as easy to turn into a Control4 remote as the Neeo was.
That would be a downgrade over the Halo remotes.

I got it back up running again.   The outlet was not powered off after all.   It was an extended internet outage of like 12 hours or so and it appears the auto reboot just timed out with number of reboots which I thought max was 10 (my setting)... Didn't realize that setting to 0 means infinite reboots.   I'm going to try that to see if that fixes in the future.

There is a video like this for practically every lock out there. Unfortunately, the guy doesn't understand that you can use the internal Level with any lock. I've used mine with Kwikset and Schlage deadbolts. I've yet to replace a battery. Others I've had (Kwikset and Yale) eat batteries.
If a crook wanted to rob me, they'd have no trouble breaking the glass, reaching in and unlocking the door.

Neo1738 reacted to PumpUpVolume in Network Connectivity Issues with NEEO Remtoe
I've moved the NEEO to a unique SSID on the 2.4GHz band. This specially reserved SSID is enabled on the 2.4GHz band only. I am not broadcasting the SSID (that is specifically for the NEEO). I also enabled MAC address filtering (Allow by List) to ensure only the NEEO can join the special SSID. I have ensured there are no special characters in the unique NEEO SSID; I have also ensured there are no special characters in the respective passphrase.
We'll see how this extra special treatment of the NEEO plays out over the next couple weeks.

I just wanted to stop by and say your dealer is a POS and you should fire them. Above all else this is a Control4 product on a Control4 system they are responsible for and I as a long standing professional in this industry have little patience for this anymore. We DONT always have anwers or solutions for things that happen or products that end up not as wonderful as orignaly anticipated but “doesn’t want anything to with that” (on a sold and provided C4 product) or “it must be your network” means they are GROSSLY inexperienced or just full of BS but either way they have no interst in you as a cusomer besides making money.
now back to the Neeo conversation…

I think it must be a combo of some parts used in *some* Neeos being bad and/or assembled defectively and/or buggy firmware and/or don't play nice with *some* WAPs.   So, while I place blame on my particular Neeo, I don't think all Neeos are inherently shitty....

I have variables and based on those a zone or so goes out. Like during my daughters nap/bed times it doesn't do that hall zone or her room. Easy to do w variables and announcement agent.
if Variable XXXX Bedtime is true
    --> Announce doorbell xxx bedtime
    else
    --> Announce doorbell
We actually have a version of Noell that gets played at xmas time for the month of Dec so you can also do it based on time of year to make things fun. I have it play Happy Birthday if it's someone in the house's birthday too.

There was an iTunes driver for OS2 which you could hack to do this.  Nothing on OS3… this was my reason for moving from Apple Music to Tidal for 90% of my streaming needs (the other 10% is my kids who refuse to move…)

Neo1738 got a reaction from TexasBill in Solar Panels, Battery and Egauge and cost of electricity
I have a 15.4 kw solar system with 50 panels in the summer I save about 450/mo in the winter about 100/mo. Also have 10kw battery to backup the 1 panel not on a generator. Now if power goes out whole house has power. Average about 350/mo savings will repay in 137 mo. After tax credit whole system cost about 48k. So after about 12 years I'll make profit.

Dipswitch #18 (which I use regularly) orders the eye mask with Bluetooth headset from Amazon.
Or tell her to lock the door when she comes home. It won't re-kick the motor.

If it's a dipswitch keypad lock, to mute..
      dipswitch #3 to off (down)
If yours doesn't have dipswitches, then it's keypad presses (only works with the deadbolt unlocked)...
      Master code
      Lock button
      1
      5
      Lock button
To toggle between mute and sound.
I have 4 older kwikset keypad locks on interior spaces, this is what works between those 4 locks.

I don't think that there are many that have done this - so I thought I would put this up to encourage others and help others if they are going down this path.
I have a rather large house (about 5,500 square feet) in Texas. We have (usually) light winters and HOT summers.
Electricity for houses like mine are running anywhere from $500-700 per month for electricity. (not a scientific survey but a quick canvas of local neighbors)
I put in (about 11 years ago now) a 10.8 kW solar system (18 panels)
I loved it- together with my foam insulation I was paying about $180 in electric every month - I was conserving air conditioning during the day because I wanted a credit to help cover my nights.
So we were always bordering on sweating or freezing (wintertime)
Then Reliant (my electricity company) starting offering "Truly Free nights". From 8 pm to 6 AM electricity is free. Yes - you pay 24 cents per kwh in the daytime to offset this "free" nights but - my brain said that I have solar during the day so it will be free during the day. So - I switched and we found that we could move all laundry etc till after 8 pm nightly and we were now down to $110 per month approximately for electric - but - the difference was that we could now air condition the dickens at night - down as low as we wanted to go, charge the Tesla and during the day we had plenty of electricity from the solar so now we were much more comfortable and not spending a lot of money.
THEN we added a 31 kw Harris battery (https://www.harrisbattery.com/) with a 15 kw Sol ARK (https://www.sol-ark.com/sol-ark-15k-all-in-one/) to cover from 6 AM when electricity is no longer free till the sun comes out and then from when the sun goes down till 8 PM (I refer to these times as the "shoulders" of the bell curve produced by the solar generation.
The house (using the egauge: https://www.egauge.net/) "knows" when we are making solar and set the air condition appropriately - when there is no solar being made the thermostat is made higher so that the AC does not kick on so low.
MY electric bill last month was $14.
I am telling you this because Reliant advertises this truly free nights:  https://www.reliant.com/en/public/truly-free-nights-plan-lf.jsp and if you look, they show that what I am doing is PART OF THEIR PLAN and recommended -
So - we now have "gas" free - we no longer pay for fuel for our travels.
My plan was up in March so I went to "renew" expecting that they would not let me renew and I would have to pick a plan that worked differently - Imagine my surprise when they offered to allow me to renew for FIVE YEARS online with one button click.
DONE - I now have for the next five years, electric bills that should be $25 or less.
Now - I am nearing retirement age so this is really cool to get this under control for my monthly expenditures when I am retired.
31KW does NOT handle all my electrical needs - I also have a generator for power outages to keep the refrigerator running etc.
I wanted to post this in case it helps anyone else out there.
    Bill

There's plenty of good audio over cat baluns, balanced and unbalanced (depending on your turntable). Note that if it's a 'true' phono output you may need a phono/turntable pre-amp even if your receiver has a phono in (you'll know when you try)
