In my use case case I have Moen flow
I can put Flo to sleep while ratio is watering and wake her up when watering stops

Shelly, or check Driver central, there's a couple for multi relay boxes 3rd party drivers over there.

Shelly’s overall TCO is the lowest with a C4 driver but it will be WiFi based one.

You’ll need a contactor (relay) to handle the 230v of the pump, activated by a Control4 switch.

I've seen portables wreak havoc with control systems due to frequency drift.

Check the frequency on the generator, could have been moved/bumped.

We are still working on this with the BSHG guys.  It’s a slow process and at this stage we have only finished the coffee machine (as that is what they sent us).

OK so random update. 
I updated my code to include push notifications and I was not seeing the push notifications either. 
Monday morning I wake up to push notifications and working code. 
I didn't change the code!  Driver updates are set to auto as is C4 code base. Perhaps driver fairies updated something and fixed this. 

I'm on a well. 
When town water comes to the street I can keep the well for irrigation. 

It's tough to teach it Rachio as Rachio is not dumb schedules and rain skips but adjusts monthly etc.

I'm a remote Control4 dealer/programmer, have helped lots of others in your situation to get their system up & running, upgraded (if necessary), and humming like its supposed to.  PM me if interested.

1 EA3 will be fine. You don't need an EA1 behind the TV. Just use a cat5e and splice on IR flashers from your EA3 if needed. Don't know many people at all that even use the OSD anymore.
 
Sonos Connect definitely not needed. Sell all the sonos gear while you still can. Its getting harder and harder because most of the old sonos gear is now obsolete and won't work with the S2 app. (See C4 isnt the only one where gear becomes so old its no longer compatible)
Triad Ones are expensive but they are a decent product. If you only need one to replace the sonos connect amp then go for it. The built in services in C4 are pretty great these days. They're not missing much except Chromecast IMO. (Anything they don't have can be done though AirPlay)
 
And it even sounds like you have a 4 zone matrix amp which has digital inputs so you can use both streams out of the EA3.

I don't think the OP needs to spend money on shiny new WiFi as the current is fast enough for any known use cases. 
More importantly it works.
