Yes, it should be the outer 2 relay terminals. You don’t need to use the center (normally closed) terminal on the relay. Then program the DS2 to activate the relay on button press; this is configured in the device settings.

The beeping noise is the audio calibration for the mics in the touch screen.

go to intercom - settings and turn off echo calibration.

I switched off the main breaker for about 20 seconds and all of the Control4 switches in my house were normal after I turned it back on.
The cause of the problem seems to be near instantaneous power cycling (i.e. power flickers.) Slow power cycling is the fix.

I have to imagine that if your company knew you were owning and running a competing business, they'd probably fire you. I'd wager it's against your employment agreement.
Decide whether you want to be an employee at your company or start your own. Nearly impossible to do both effectively.

Absolutely. His boss cannot agree to him stealing potential customers or maybe even stealing existing customers away.

I have an IP driver that I have kind of hacked together.  PM me and I can send you the info.  It works quite well but requires a bit of config, such as entering the MAC and IP of the SageTV extender(s).  So they will need to have fixed IPs via DHCP res or static IP settings.  Of course, you will need a dealer to install it if you are not a dealer yourself.

I was comparing straight HDMI cable vs. video distribution systems (HD Base T, VoIP, etc.) that compress/process/decompress the signal  and add additional latency.

Many newer displays have low-latency game mode (and variable refresh rates) to improve gaming performance. Video distribution would negate those benefits whereas straight HDMI would not.

That’s not an LED light, it’s a small red and white C4 logo on a black background on the LED screen. It most likely would serve as a home command to get back to the main interface.

The existing Neeo doesn’t have a mic and there is no microphone button shown. Having a dedicated mic button is the only way to realistically do voice on a remote.

As chopedogg88 said, shorting terminals doesn’t work for MyQ door openers. To test that it work for you garage door, take a screw driver and short it between the two terminals on the door. The door opener should start moving the door up/down immediately, just like pressing the button on the wall.

WhyPhy got a reaction from chopedogg88 in White VS Snow White
The plugs and switches having different styles and finishes is not something people will notice when they walk into your house, but if you’re like me, it’s all you see once it’s in your brain. For what it’s worth, my wife said “you’re right about the plug plates matching the switch plates - it does look better.” Also, she really disliked the curved C4 plate design
I think the aesthetic of having matching-design plates on plugs and switches is a bigger impact than having the finishes all match. I other words, snow white switches in gloss white plates or gloss plugs in snow white plates isn’t as big of a deal, so long as the plate styles match
Availably is the other strike against Snow White. If you’re looking to opportunistically pick up used, gloss white is widely available and snow white is very hard to find.

Agreed - not cool to hijack this thread. Shelly sounds great - but best to discuss in a separate thread. This thread is dedicated a different solution and no reason to take it off topic.

WhyPhy got a reaction from Neo1738 in Trane HVAC system
I can say with complete certainty that the Ecobee 4 can control Heat Pumps with up to 4 stages each.  https://support.ecobee.com/hc/en-us/articles/115006077367-What-types-of-HVAC-systems-are-ecobee-thermostats-compatible-with-
You have 4 zones, and most likely, it's the Trane Comfortlink II proprietary zone controller is being used. That zone controller is not compatible with standard/conventional thermostat 5-wire (R, G, Y, W, C) configurations and instead requires the XL1050 thermostat. So it's most likely a Zone Controller compatibility issue, not a Trane Heat Pump compatibility issue.
A Trane dealer knows Trane equipment, and that's what they are going to sell you. That is the highest-end multi-zone system Trane makes. I think it's overly complicated and expensive for what still feels like a dated user interface, but it will definitely get the job done.
I'm pretty sure they could use Ecobee thermostats and an Aprilaire 6404 zone controller or an EcoJay 4-zone SmartZone controller instead. But they won't be familiar with those controllers and won't want to warranty it. Go with what your HVAC installer knows. (FYI, my local Trane HVAC company switched from Trane to Aprilaire thermostats and zone controllers for these and other reasons.)

I have a full MQTT driver that supports SSL. I use the driver to control Sonoff kit but also it can send and receive any MQTT messages which can be used for programming.
If you would like to help me beta test then give me your email address and I will send you the drivers.
    Thank you

WhyPhy reacted to jackstone in A good RGB LED Control solution for Control4 is there
We are releasing a new solution for RGB LED Control with Control4. There is not so many good and affordable solutions of this kind right now, this driver may fill a gap many people wanted since a while.

If you have tried other RGB LED Control solution for Control4 that are on the market right now, you may have find they may produce disappointing results, or other solutions may be better but for a price.

The driver we are presenting if focussed mainly to work with RGB LED and use DMX as the standard lightning control protocol. It teams with a powerful interface that is the RS-232 DMX Engine from Engineering Solutions Inc. This little box have enough power to allow a complete management of RGB LED, Color effects, smooth fades, and more. Best of all, it does cost less than the other popular DMX solution for Control4.

The driver fully support Advanced Lightning Agent scenes with perfectly synchronous activation with no external tool required to build a scene, it also feature a highly user friendly color effect management and native Control4 dimmer control to keep the experience similar the same as with Control4 own lightning system.

    Quick features list:
    - Native Control4 Dimmer Control
    - Full Advanced Lightning Agent support
    - Perfectly smooth scene activation with no popcorn effect
    - Smooth fades and color transition
    - Built-in Color Loop and Chase Effect
    - Effects are fully customizable
    - No CPU overhead
    - Support parallel tasking
    - Ultra fast response time
    - Exclusive Effect Switch for easy color effect creation
    - White override for RGBW Lightning

The total cost of the driver and the interface is lower than the actual most popular DMX solution for Control4 and will produce better results, guarantee. Many people are already using it and they liked it.

Check out this demo video of a basement with RGBW lightning, all controlled with Control4 and this driver:

WhyPhy reacted to Dave w in Lutron RA2 Select
Yes, and you can program through C4, so no need to pay electrician for any custom programming beyond basic setup.  You will get mixed responses on using lutron vs C4 lighting controls on here.  Some, like myself, like Lutron more aesthetically and functionally.  C4 is better if you need a stronger zigby mesh for other devices.  I don't use any zigby in my project except one or two remotes close to controllers so that is not a benefit.  C4 light switches have programmable colored LED lights on the switch that some find useful to show ertain programming states or status.   The debate in this thread was more about original RA2 vs new QA select....

We are proud to announce the new version 2.1 of our DMX Solution for Control4. This version feature minor bug fix and some nice additions.
    What's new in version 2.1?
    - Tunable White Dimmer     A requested feature to allow managing latest white LED fixtures that can product cool and warm white. The driver also allow the use of any kind of LED (RGB, RGBW, Dual-White and more) to create the perfect white light temperature output our of any LED fixture. It can also change the light temperature as the day goes by.
    - DMX Sequencer     This driver was already available in beta but it now goes to final with the release. The DMX Sequence is mainly use to run multiple sequenced light effect in a room without any Composer programming, but the most liked feature of the Sequencer is it's Sound-to-Light feature that will make your lights dance to the music. This version bring LOT of enhancement and simplify a lot the connection and setup for Sound-to-Light. It also auto-calibrate the audio to make sure the light will always move. Check out this tutorial that will show you how to setup Sound-to-Light on Control4: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sXEyEOKH8UM
    - New ColorChanger with improved Color Wheel     The ColorChanger driver has be improved for better touch accuracy on the Color Wheel. It now allow displaying the Color Wheel on T3 touch screens  right from the Lighting interface (no need to go on the Camera view!). The new full-screen Color Wheel interface have new control button for Brightness and Power Toggle. Also it can save the current color as preset of as the default turn on color, live. Here is a view on the new full screen Color Wheel on T3:

The driver suite is still available to download at Houselogix, you can also purchase all the required hardware there.

A side note about us (me)
As you may know, Houselogix has dropped tech support for third party drivers they sell, thus leading all service request are rerouted to the developer. In my case, I'm just a guy with full time job, coding Control4 drivers for fun on my spare time and running a company as a job side-line. So I don't have a support team to back me up, I don't even have a secretary to answer the phone when I'm not available.
I want to help you guy when you have questions about this driver or other stuff I've made, but don't be surprise if I can't take your call right away because I work all day long. The best way to get support will always be via e-mail, I always keep track of my e-mail even if this is not as fast as a quick phone call.
Please try place all support request via email to info@domaudeo.com. I will always do the best I can to help you.

    Hi

I have in fact integrated basaltes knx switch plates with control4, it can be done with either control4’s own knx integration suite or the tisco integration suite. Obviously this is not native like what they offer with crestron or lutron, however the end result is the same. Any questions i will try to help.

    Best
