DawnGordon reacted to msgreenf in Reburished C4 16 channel matrix amp - unable to control volume from C4 app/remotes/touchscreens/keypads/etc)
if you want your system to control it as designed, a dealer has to identify the hardware into the product. the rest of what you are asking is irrelevant.

DawnGordon got a reaction from cnicholson in Email notification if garage overhead door is open for more than 5 minutes.
I did something a little different in my home.
I set several light switches to show a certain color when the garage door is open. It's hard to miss those.

the driver referenced above has button links to do just that!

Or you could use the 'relay garage door' driver, freely available in Control4's online database. It provides a nicer Experience Button interface as well.
It has an configurable 'open time' after which it will fire an event.
If you have multiple contacts (door fully open and door fully closed), it can also alert you if the door takes too long to open or close.

Glad you got it working. Strongly suggest you create a DHCP reservation for the processor so you don't have to do this again.

pick a better projector...

DawnGordon reacted to Leighm0 in New Halo and Halo Touch Remotes
The Neeo is no longer listed on the C4 dealer portal (it was removed when they couldn't fulfil back-orders in a timely manner), I doubt it'll return... we were told the particular brand chipset used was very hard to get due to shortages.
Which if you think about it, its not too bad - considering the Halo should be compared to a SR260RSK (price-wise) - since it comes with a built-in rechargeable battery and dock/recharge station.. so for an extra $80, you get quite a bit of an upgrade, full color display, etc...

Roku does not have a Voice API, and Control4 doesn't have contacts within Roku. That is unlikely to happen anytime soon (although, of course, if a Voice API shows up, it would be fantastic). The voice APIs in Roku are for the Roku *APPS* to receive data from the voice input of the Roku.
Snap One has not announced integration with Dish, but Control4 does have contacts within Dish, so I'm much more hopeful we will be able to make that work.
The price of the Halo Remote is not much more than the MSRP of the SR260 + the Charging Base, which combined was something like $440 MSRP, and value for money, the Halo remote looks to me to be pretty fantastic.

I’m pretty sure they’ve always had that version of the 260. It’s basically an international version that uses graphics instead of English text.

DawnGordon reacted to RyanE in MyQ DriverCentral driver now completely dead?
Physical Contacts / Relays IMHO is the only way to go for a garage door. I mean, I really want to know if the door is opened or closed, regardless of whether the cloud service is having an issue, and I want to know it as soon as it happens...

If you are looking to purchase motorized or even manual shades and blinds, take a look at the attached article.

DawnGordon reacted to Jakelay in New AVA remote for Control4
Just one example of the type of setup I would love to see as an option on the next round of remotes. This is from Crestron. Looks like they finally went Wi-Fi instead of charging for one of their gateways. Not sure that’s better - remote functionality was great even though more expensive - the gateways made a great connection with never a drop in about 14 years of using the system before switching to C4. But for the price premium, I think this remote costs more than the 8” T4 🤦♂️
But something like this format would be nice.
Note: All keys are backlit on this remote . . .

My bet as well.

DawnGordon reacted to bobbay in Contemporary Lighting & Engraving
The Contemporary dimmers/switches are NOT decora. They are smaller. They will fit in a Decora faceplate, but there will be gaps around the device. C4 Contemporary faceplates will NOT work with standard decora outlets, switches etc. The opening is smaller than a Decora opening. There is or is going to be, a C4 faceplate that is 1 contemporary opening and 1 decora opening.

DawnGordon got a reaction from C4 User in Contemporary Lighting & Engraving
Does anyone know if the Contemporary faceplate will work with a 2-gang decora arrangement -- 1 side a contemporary rocker and a single decora outlet next to it?

Dawn helped me out with Top Down Bottom Up PowerView blinds and they are pretty darn quiet, especially compared to my Bali roller shades downstairs.

DawnGordon reacted to msgreenf in Replacing Ruckus
but how is that a fair comparison? You stated that putting Unifi APs in every room is better then one Ruckus AP. Well no kidding. Using one AP to cover an entire house is like using a smart car to deliver amazon packages - ain't gonna work...

DawnGordon reacted to msgreenf in Replacing Ruckus
And you think unifi is going to perform better then ruckus? You wrong about that...

DawnGordon got a reaction from ejn1 in Lutron Shade recommendations?
I am a Lutron full shades dealer and have sold Lutron (with great pricing) to forum members here.
Lutron shading is sold in three categories:
Serena Shades (consumer): A DIY battery and wired for power line with Lutron's excellent Triathlon motors. Available in a full-range of fabrics and styles (roller shades, honeycomb shades and wood blinds with motorized tilt). A few options, such as Battery Boost are not available with Serena.
Triathlon (professional): Triathlon is Lutron's step-up shading line. Like Serena, it can be powered via battery or by wire. Not nearly as many options as Sivoia (below), but for most, this line is great. You have the option of Battery Boost which will give you up to 7 years of battery life based on the shade size, material and usage. Other great Triathlon options include hembar alignment and more flexible mounting options.
Sivoia (professional & full shades): Sivoia is the highest end Lutron shading. There are several different motor options (all wired), many different mounting options, numerous power and control options, and additional shading types: Horizontal Sheers (think Silhouette), Motorized Drapery Tracks, Kirbe Vertical Draperies, Roman Shade Motors, and Wood Blinds with Motorized raise/lower/tilt.
Control: All Lutron Shading can be controlled with Lutron Pico remote controls. Additionally, Lutron Hubs such as the SmartBridge, SmartBridge Pro, Radio Ra2 Select and Radio Ra2 Main Repeater can control the shades. An exception is that Louvered products need Radio Ra Select Hubs or higher to control them. If you have Control4 or another 3rd party control system, you need the SmartBridge Pro or higher for integration.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.
