They will only pass along HDMI-extracted audio that is PCM -- it can not pass along any non-PCM audio.

I'd have to disagree. You'll find a lot of AV installers are actually better at networking than you believe, in particular for practical things which affect AV. Also, VLAN's aren't really considered advanced honestly (my coworker was trained within 10mins), unless you go completely overboard with policies. Snap even provides a 10 page guide (with a large font) on Araknis. You'll note that even their guide basically recommends KISS under their best practices (ie, do things with the least number of VLAN's you can)..
The trick is network design, which is part of why Access Networks was likely purchased by Snap, because they can facilitate that, and provide fast support for questions like the one asked by OP.
Can you please answer NetworkGuru's question in more detail then...

+1 on AVPro edge, that's what I was going to recommend as well.  You will not have loss in video quality as long as you have the proper wiring in place (Cat6 or better preferably), and are within the distance specs.
PM me if interested, I'm a direct dealer with AVPro edge and can get you pricing if you'd like.  I also have access to their "B stock" units which can be had for a nice discount, and come with the same 10-year warranty as A stock.

It's also worth noting that there may be higher spec features available outside the spec in lower spec (DV and eARC available in 2.0, for example). Just because something exists as part of a spec doesn't mean it can't exist outside of it. Or better said: You can have eARC without HDMI 2.1. But you can't have HDMI 2.1 without eARC.

I'm very pro-Ubiquiti. It's really the only networking gear I'd use in a residential deployment, but I'm also curious why you'd want to pull apart what's basically a current Araknis system. I agree the APs could probably stand replacement if they've given you some problems, but otherwise you've got a pretty good system in place. Don't get me wrong I think Ubiquiti is easier in the long run, but your costs are sunk at this point!

Agreed...they have some beefy budgets these days at a good cost. Plus there really shouldn't be too much requiring that much power anymore. PoE has gotten quite a bit more efficient in last 5 years.

Likely is suggesting since besides Araknis and Pakedge it is one of the only other brands of networking gear for him to get from Snap.

Ubiquiti has enterprise networking capabilities pretty much across the board… at a price noticeably better than most.
Eero is consumer grade networking equipment with an intuitive and setup friendly app and mostly plug and play components. It will have some limitations from an advanced network perspective and can be problematic with certain advanced C4 features but in most cases  it works just fine.
Araknis is an AV networking brand. They fall in the middle providing more pro/enterprise style gear with simple UIs, performance stats and features. Their newer equipment finally has some more powerful hardware and basic things like firewall rules we expect on expensive routers. Ovrc management and Snap service is definitely its biggest strength.

    A USW-Pro-24-POE (400W) is 1/3rd the cost of a Araknis 310 Series 24port. It’s L3 and has 25 more watts.

I always prefer to use services within the Control4 app, it works well and eliminates jumping around like you said.  Personally I use Pandora Premium and SiriusXM...used to use Spotify but didn't like having to use the Spotify app and Spotify Connect.  Not an Apple guy so don't use Apple Music or Airplay...but would sure be nice if Control4 could get that as a native service...but hey even Savant doesn't have it and their Pro hosts run on Macs!

Definitely interesting to see the relationship with Control4 and Josh get a little more murky. I think we already knew that with some of the sales agreements for dealers changing, but their big partnership with Ava, which obviously isn't compatible with Control4 due to Oberholzer's ties to it, for their remote and not having heard much about integration with the Halo remote is telling

I assume you've signed up as a Control4 SDK Licence agreement?
The licence agreement gives you access to all the driver development resources we (and other developers have) including official developers support.

I would recommend turning wifi on the stat off and then back on.
I would also recommend creating a dedicated 2.4 wifi network for the stats.
You are not able to. Once you select Automation System in the installer settings, AprilAire servers will no longer be able to see your stat. However, if you first setup the stat in AprilAire mode and then switch to Automation System you'll get access to both, but can have issues on both fronts. I would recommend the following steps to get both consistently working:
Remove the stats from your AprilAire account/app Take each stat into installer mode and document the settings in each menu (pictures work good too) Factory reset each stat Go through each installer sub-menu after factory reset and set to settings you denoted in step 2. Ensure you're set up in automation mode. Once the stats get to normal usage screen/home screen (you may have to confirm and leave in step 4), go into wifi settings (menu-->wifi settings-->advanced-->setup without app) and you can join to your wifi network from the screen of the stat. Apologies if that's not the exact menu path as I'm doing this from memory. Take note of each stat's IP address. Use the IP address in composer's connections tab to bind to the stat. I have gone through the above process many times. I had a defective 8840 a couple years back during a chip shortage for the stat. Since AprilAire HQ is about 30 mins from me, their R&D worked with my HVAC company and would build me replacement stats from parts they had. Went through a few of them and had to do most of the above steps repeatedly because the boards they had to build from were bad stock and AprilAire knew would only last about 6 weeks at a time. They just built me a bunch of them until the final/rear unit came in from the boat in Long Beach. Been perfect ever since.

    This isn't correct....
SiriusXM and Pandora is owned by the same company, and isn't available outside of the US normally due to licencing restrictions anyway to the best of my knowledge (it's not a Control4 thing). Not sure about iHeartRadio (but, I'm guessing since it should work internationally normally, it likely works internationally in C4).

Tidal, TuneIn, Amazon Music, deezer, Spotify (and probably more) all work internationally (although, Spotify is restricted, but thats not because of C4).
