I can’t speak to other models that use the Yale Access app, but I can report definitively that, with the Assure 2 locks with C4 zigbee module installed, the app can continue communicating with the lock (you can setup and manage auto lock from the app in this way - as well as a number of settings, lock firmware upgrade, etc) as long as it is in Bluetooth range of the lock.  I believe the Assure 2 has a built in Bluetooth radio which does not deactivate when the C4 module is in there and in this way allows advanced features and lock control through the app. Really like the Yale Assure 2 and C4 module combo - C4 integration remains perfect totally reliable, user management and all C4 features work great!

I got mine from @chopedogg88 if you need them - they work perfectly with the new yale assure 2 locks.  They're the red ones and say "AYR202-ZB-C4 V. 5.0" on them.  I believe "V. 5.0" is a reference to the firmware on the module.  To work properly both the lock itself and the module must be running the latest firmware.  I say this because at first the Assure 2 would join but was unreliable and couldn't be managed in the UI - but once I updated the firmware both the lock and the module (the module firmware is updated through Composer) then - presto - worked perfectly!  I have 3 of the Assure 2s and 1 of the older YRD226L locks and they all work perfectly and are rock solid - a HUGE improvement over the old Vera Z-Wave integration in terms of reliability and quieter operation and features (and aesthetics) - highly recommend the upgrade.

I can see the utility in the smart kettle - I can be sitting at my desk in the office and turn on the kettle in the kitchen.  Then get notified when it has boiled.
But don't you keep an ice machine always on?  Or maybe there are places that they only make ice on "as needed" basis.  But the lead time is a bit more than boiling water.

Alot of the time when you get no video it has to do with video resolution bit rate and frame rate. Try lowering all of these a bit at a time and see if it becomes more reliable.  Otherwise you need to have someone look at the logs to find out why it is failing.

Dueport reacted to TexasBill in Solar Panels, Battery and Egauge and cost of electricity
I don't think that there are many that have done this - so I thought I would put this up to encourage others and help others if they are going down this path.
I have a rather large house (about 5,500 square feet) in Texas. We have (usually) light winters and HOT summers.
Electricity for houses like mine are running anywhere from $500-700 per month for electricity. (not a scientific survey but a quick canvas of local neighbors)
I put in (about 11 years ago now) a 10.8 kW solar system (18 panels)
I loved it- together with my foam insulation I was paying about $180 in electric every month - I was conserving air conditioning during the day because I wanted a credit to help cover my nights.
So we were always bordering on sweating or freezing (wintertime)
Then Reliant (my electricity company) starting offering "Truly Free nights". From 8 pm to 6 AM electricity is free. Yes - you pay 24 cents per kwh in the daytime to offset this "free" nights but - my brain said that I have solar during the day so it will be free during the day. So - I switched and we found that we could move all laundry etc till after 8 pm nightly and we were now down to $110 per month approximately for electric - but - the difference was that we could now air condition the dickens at night - down as low as we wanted to go, charge the Tesla and during the day we had plenty of electricity from the solar so now we were much more comfortable and not spending a lot of money.
THEN we added a 31 kw Harris battery (https://www.harrisbattery.com/) with a 15 kw Sol ARK (https://www.sol-ark.com/sol-ark-15k-all-in-one/) to cover from 6 AM when electricity is no longer free till the sun comes out and then from when the sun goes down till 8 PM (I refer to these times as the "shoulders" of the bell curve produced by the solar generation.
The house (using the egauge: https://www.egauge.net/) "knows" when we are making solar and set the air condition appropriately - when there is no solar being made the thermostat is made higher so that the AC does not kick on so low.
MY electric bill last month was $14.
I am telling you this because Reliant advertises this truly free nights:  https://www.reliant.com/en/public/truly-free-nights-plan-lf.jsp and if you look, they show that what I am doing is PART OF THEIR PLAN and recommended -
So - we now have "gas" free - we no longer pay for fuel for our travels.
My plan was up in March so I went to "renew" expecting that they would not let me renew and I would have to pick a plan that worked differently - Imagine my surprise when they offered to allow me to renew for FIVE YEARS online with one button click.
DONE - I now have for the next five years, electric bills that should be $25 or less.
Now - I am nearing retirement age so this is really cool to get this under control for my monthly expenditures when I am retired.
31KW does NOT handle all my electrical needs - I also have a generator for power outages to keep the refrigerator running etc.
I wanted to post this in case it helps anyone else out there.
    Bill

I have been doing some more research on this. The SolarEdge web API is interesting to pull historical data (which I have done to calculate whether a battery makes sense) but you are limited to 200 calls each day so not very useful for real time data.

However, I have found you can extract SolarEdge data locally every minute using an RS485 interface in an industry standard protocol called SunSpec. I’ll start a new specific thread on SunSpec which is relevant for equipment from multiple solar equipment manufacturers.

The same that was echoed numerous times in the conversation - no-one is forced to update, so no-one is forced to buy new hardware.
So if you're not willing to spend money to go to a Core-5 at this time ... don't.

We have numerous systems running older versions perfectly fine, and we fully support them as far as we can. If new features aren't worth the cost of replacing a decade old controller..., don't update. I fail to see why that is such a huge concern. 🤷‍♂️

So, I'm seeing a bit of info which imho is a bit wrong (but keep in mind, I don't work for snap)
Control4 notified installers about the HC800's getting depreciated at least 2 months ago (https://tech.control4.com/s/feed/0D51T00009uoZHKSA2).. I responded here to a post too, warning they were EOL a month ago: https://www.c4forums.com/forums/topic/41118-markets-for-old-c4-gear/#comment-317267 . HC800 is actually almost 11 years old now (Jan 2012 was the launch) Replacing a HC800 Primary requires a Core3 or Core 5 regardless, and you'd just move the devices to the ports on the new controller (unless you plan to add MORE IR devices simultaneously?) In 2012, the most common use-case for IR was TV's, or set top boxes. These days, most things (including TV's) are IP.  The mobile app still works even with OS3.0.0. You just don't get new features Control4 specified that the HC800 architecture is different to other controllers, and they would need to maintain a completely separate build for them. Even if they turned them into a glorified IO Extender, they would still need their QA team testing them every release, help installers with the driver and to develop a migration process. And this work would consume a huge amount of resources with marginable benefit.  Remember development isn't free, and even turning them into an IO extender, or supporting new updates (if even possible) to benefit a handful of people who may use them as an io extender, would slow down development of more important features. Developers can either work on the HC800 firmware, or they can work on other things.. They can't do both In fact, even the Gen 1 Hue Bridge was released after the HC800, and support was canned 2 years ago. And the Hue bridge is a simple, dedicated device (a lot less complex than a Control4 controller). 2012 iPhones ended support 2017. 2012 Mac computer support ended years ago, and Windows 11 only supports 8000 series processors (launched 5 years ago). Another example is Sonos also didn't support S2 on products, which were being sold still in 2015 (a year before HC800 stopped being sold). S2 was released in 2020. Intel are no longer supporting the hardware, and the CPU's are missing a lot of important extensions which I'm guessing will be needed increasingly in the future (like AES)   And finally, all this assumes that any custom kernel modules and such being used on the HC800 are being actively supported too (which is plausible).  Negotiations with companies like Apple may even require certain security requirements/extensions for certain services (or there could be consequences for being unable to secure them properly). Which again, would cause major chaos with development. They might even have to offer drivers which would simply be broken on some controllers.
The question is, should SnapAV continue developing firmware for a controller which was released with OS2.2 (a year before TuneIN Support), and move some developers (even for a few months only) from working on other features (like improved lighting, improved voice control and new remotes), to support new firmware or IO on a 10 year old controller (which they likely couldn't fully keep secure in the future anyway, without microcode updates from intel)? I'd argue it probably doesn't make much sense.. Almost no 10 year old hardware is being actively supported by vendors anymore, and in the computer industry, 10 years of support is practically unheard of (even datacentres are using CPU's from only 4 or 5 years ago, and only for Mainframes I'm guessing, it might be different).

I'll look into this a bit more.  The Battery Agent reads the composer variable BATTERY_LEVEL value at the time of the scan... So if the driver is reporting 0% then this means the SR driver is incorrectly updating variable to 0 when it shouldn't.  I might need to build a validation script to ignore these incorrect levels.  I'll update the other forum post with more info on battery agent updates as we release them.

    On the UniFi Network driver
I'm glad you got the setup working.    To answer some of the earlier questions:

The Site Id is the ID referenced in the URL (see image).  Normally this is the word default and yes, in multi site system it'll be a unique code.

On geo fencing... Yes, you can use the driver to get alerts when certain phones arrive.  This was actually a critical goal of the driver and I personally use this to know when my kids get home from school.  In addition to this, you can enable/disable alerts for any network client via the T3/T4 dashboard :).  This is really great when you get new phones, you don't need to call your dealer or have them adjust your settings... Just simply click the Notify Online option for that client in the dashboard ;).

The Network driver is very cool and feature packed.  The primary reason to develop this driver was to bring Network Systems and Smart Home technology together in a way that homeowners (and dealers) could use easily create powerful smart home solutions.

On the Unifi driver, yes, I am also now using the driver for that purpose -- telling me when our kids get home from school, not to mention when our aquarium guy is there to service the tank, when our gardener is there, etc.  It is so much more reliable (and much easier to set up) than Alexa geofencing or other methods I have tried.  I find it is also handy for power cycling POE-connected equipment.  If I'm not around, my family can easily power cycle a device from a C4 touch screen instead of tracking me down to do it through the Unifi app.  I am looking forward to playing around more, because this only scratches the surface of what the driver does, as you note.  Thanks again for building it.

You'll need 2 copies of the driver. One for each home. For all drivers I've ever seen, they're per project, so you can have 20 different intercoms or whatever, but if they're within 2 home / projects, you only need 2 licences
