Correct. Based on the dip switch setting on the amp.

    TS-PAMP4-100?
If so, use the global input on the amp from the matix, and then set pair two on the amp to use the global input on the amp. No Y's and no Software Audio Scene setup needed.

    Move the box.
had something similar with xfinity a couple years ago. Moved it away from the gateway in the same rack and it cleared up.

RAV got a reaction from Cinegration in Can a ceiling fan be used with a dimmable module?
    Can't do that.
A lighting dimmer works by quickly switching on/off the CURRENT (Triac); less current at one time = less brightness.
An AC Fan Controller works by changing the voltage's FREQUENCY; reduced frequency = slower rotation.
A DC Fan Controller works by reducing DC supply VOLTAGE; lower voltage = slower rotation.
You can not interchange any of these.

RAV got a reaction from turls in C4 EA5 controller upgrade to Core 5
    My vote:
CA10 & Core5, with Core1 and CA1 for mesh and local GUIs as needed.
If it's just two audio streams and you're doing the CA10 at the same time, and don't need the IO of the 5, you could do the Core3 at the rack instead.
But if the CA10 is later, start with the Core5 to replace the HC800.

RAV got a reaction from FLA in Tv”s Blinking On and Off & Not Turning Fully On & Off
Do you have a centralized video matrix switching system? All the boxes in the rack and just TVs in the rooms?
When they blink, is there a visual confirmation of the TV power state? Is just the image blanking? (Is the TV powered on and no signal the issue, or is it simpler programing issue of the TV power) Got TV power LEDs?
If it's a matrix it's possible how the wiring was done, shielded or not, distance from high voltage stuff, terminations, etc.
It's also possible it's EDID HDCP communication issues where the brand of products aren't getting along.

RAV got a reaction from South Africa C4 user in Luma Insight Bridge Released
    Agree it's confusing.
Here's how I see it, and I understand it's redundant in ways, trying to figure it out myself to explain it to clients.
An NVR is a vault. Large long term PRIVATE storage.
Insight is a user interface. Easy access.
Cameras are the data source for both.
If you built Insight into the NVR, you'd be essentially building a gaming computer. Processor for this, another for that. Ram for this, storage for that. And you'd have a possibly less secure storage as it's now cloud connected, which many don't want.
By making it two boxes, you have options for different client needs. Maybe front outside cameras are OK with them for the cloud review, while keeping inside and pool area only private local storage. Some clients may be fine with all cloud and a few cameras, no NVR required. Others, all private. Two boxes, you have all the options.
Without a cloud storage connection, you'd have a slower client interface, which is what you have now with an x20 NVR. So yes, that's redundant. But Luma isn't as slick an interface, and by it's nature closed to the Control4 system for review.
Somebody other than the vault needs to hold the short term clips for quick access. These short term clips need to be accessed by multiple interfaces. In house, by the Control4 system. Clients out of house, by an app. And ability to send to clients, share and easily archive. As it's more likely to be accessed by people when they're not home, it makes sense to have them in the cloud, rather than local storage. And being real, there's a revenue stream created there, the worlds going there.

Lets us know brand, model of recorder, and if the cameras are plugged into the recorder or the network switch; which you can tell by looking at the back of the recorder, is there 1 network cable to it, or several.

RAV got a reaction from jyager02 in How do I get the camera history
There's a device coming from Luma for x10 and x20 cameras, whether that gets expanded for other ONVIF cameras is unknown, but hopefully.
It will do the AI and create clips in history for review.
You may try creating a dedicated email account, and send stills/clips there for a reviewable history, granted it's not inside the app, but my clients find it helpful to quickly see a day.

When I was an installer, the company I worked for happily took on most customers who contacted us. Most installers will imho, but they'll simply charge per hour
When existing customers get rejected, it could be for a few reasons though. But often:
Really ancient Control4 equipment the customer won't upgrade (like equipment released in 2008. Generally this is a purchased house, but sometimes installers are reluctant to touch it because of the support. A DIY Network / bad network setup (unmanaged switches, crappy mesh network, ethernet over power, buggy "wifi 7" routers residental grade routers, etc). This is FAIRLY common actually, even in multi-million dollar houses which have been set up by the family. Sometimes it can be hard to convince people their overpriced junk sucks..  They are clearly shopping around for the cheapest quote, or for a quote to take elsewhere. There's been times we got quote requests for the same customer from different locations.. They are purchasing lots of ebay equipment they want installed, which could potentially be embernet, is heavily outdated, hasn't been deregistered properly, or is faulty. Again, most installers would go, but charge per hour, and not warrant it, or offer free support. The installer is fairly busy

Savant has added license fees based on project size, stipulates minimum controller, and what third party devices are in the project. $$$$s
Apparently dealers were selling it like Josh. Using Sonos and Lutron.

RAV got a reaction from penn65000 in Multi button keypad issues after power goes out and comes back.
A generator is a gas engine. It changes speed based on load, fuel, air quality etc, thus the output AC is going to be 'dirty', or fluctuate.
A simple appliance or incandescent bulb doesn't care. BUT, since the whole conservation era and devices using less power, more devices then ever DO care, smaller electronics power supplies can't store and smooth the power like the old days.
An inverter 'cleans' the power, doing a DC to AC conversion, to produce a more stable AC sinewave with less distortion and thus less fluctuations.
Which your modern electronics and lighting require since they use the sinewave cycle for timing amongst other things.
The short time between grid and generator coming online is the critical moment, when it all goes bad. (Or grid brownouts, where the voltage drops)
The lawyers for generators don't allow for simple indications of the type of output, and result in "electronics friendly" type marketing terms.
All of the above, also applies to UPS battery backups and their ability to provide electronics friendly output.

RAV reacted to tmj4 in HDCP 1.4 and 2.2 - can someone explain in plain english
It's also worth noting that there may be higher spec features available outside the spec in lower spec (DV and eARC available in 2.0, for example). Just because something exists as part of a spec doesn't mean it can't exist outside of it. Or better said: You can have eARC without HDMI 2.1. But you can't have HDMI 2.1 without eARC.

Yes. the "things" (several vendors) provide the HDCP 2.2 key and EDID to the source device that it can't get from the 1.4 port that you're trying to connect to.

That should work unless bedroom 3 was set to a local only source that couldn’t be routed to the kitchen.
can you manually do that scenario?
Room Control driver per room would be the alternative.

    1. A 16 zone matrix, all sources everywhere in sync
    2. A second response series amp for outside, if you want inside and outside you'll be Ying out a couple of sources to feed both matrix
    3. A receiver or remote preamp to drive the patio if you weren't planning on adding more zones.

RAV got a reaction from chopedogg88 in Araknis setup too complicated for my needs?
This is a Control4 orientated forum, where it so happens a lot of Control4 dealers do use Araknis.
Araknis is used by a lot of dealers because it's not consumer level, nor is it as complicated as enterprise, and has dealer tech support and cloud features.
A 2gig forum will be able to better answer your questions about the system and it's networking requirements.

Button needs to be setup as Toggle Load (or Load On or Load Off but I cant say I've ever used either of those)
Once it's set to Keypad then it relies on a controller to function.

In Composer Pro you can setup one of the buttons to directly control the load that's wired to the KD, only that button so set will function without an online controller.
