Depends on how big, and what budget really.
Frame 32" should come in around 500 or less on sale.
Viewsonic carries a portable oled screen at 15" with speakers at 1/2 an inch deep that you could probably just tape onto the wall with industrial tape (but would cost you about the same as the frame).

@RAV Your suggestion makes sense to help dealers better understand  the driver which is indeed complex (because it can do so many things).  However adding a second pared down driver would make things more difficult to synchronize in the future. I have therefore decided to take your example and add a QUICK START section at the very beginning of the documentation.  Can't be missed!
    -----------------------------------------------------------
QUICK START – A SIMPLE EXAMPLE
Ask: the client wants to use one keypad button to activate/deactivate a Lighting Scene during the day and a different Lighting Scene at night.  The keypad button LED must show the state of the Scene.
    Solution:
⦁    Install the driver.  Do not modify any properties other than the ones outlined below.
⦁    In Agents/Advanced Lighting, create the Daytime and the Nighttime Lighting Scenes to turn on the required light(s) at the required level(s).  Also create the Default Toggle Scene for each.  As you have modified the Scenes setup, run the driver’s Action ‘Refresh Advanced Lighting Scenes’.
⦁    Use the properties Select Advanced Lighting Scene A to point to your Daytime Scene and Select Advanced Lighting Scene B to point to your Nighttime Scene.
⦁    Set the Control Logic When Activating/ON property to: d = A ; n = B   This means that the first program will activate Scene A during daytime (lowercase d) and the second program will activate Scene B during nighttime (lowercase n).
⦁    Connect the driver’s Toggle Button Link L to the desired keypad button.  You may modify the properties for Keypad LED Active/ON Color and Keypad LED Inactive/OFF Color if you wish.
You are done!  Now, read on…
    -----------------------------------------------------------
I hope this will be helpful and point dealers in the right direction.
    Paul
P.S. to ALL: Do have a look at the driver's Action to '** Print ALS Reports', especially the Cross Reference report which was asked for in these forums just a few weeks ago.

I think the issue could be over marketing by C4 and the fact it starting to look like another Neeo
it’s like they have released a production vision with beta software and asking there customers to test it for them.

fingers crossed it will all come right in the end

I don’t disagree with anything you say in this post!  I also respect C4s stance in this regard and would probably make the same decision if I was running C4 (for exactly the reasons you mention).  I also think that C4 (via HE) gives more access to the DIY community than any of its competitors.
Equally, I fully support the idea of superuser access (Pro and Driver writing access) while knowing it is unlikely to ever become a reality and is thus no more than popcorn fodder for threads like this one.

I thought long and hard before commenting on this as I know some won’t appreciate what I have to say.  Honestly, I love C4 and honestly, this sort of comment from a C4 employee makes me cringe.  I have no idea what customer service is like in the states, but if one of my employees made a comment like this on a public forum, I would de-authorise him from making any public comments with regard to my brand.  In fact, a comment like this would be a dismissible offence at our company as it would be in breach of our social media policy.
Please don’t get me wrong.  That does not mean that I would never cancel someones contract… I would (and have) under certain circumstances.  However, I would not go around making public threats about doing it, I would simply do it IF the circumstances warranted it.

You can override the Humidity sensor for the Control4 Thermostats.  There is a connection for it. You can bind the Z2io to get remote humidity.  That is the only device that I know that provides humidity.

    A new native driver… exciting…
Ive tried 3 or 4 battery level drivers and none have worked well (for me).  I must say that the battery summariser (that I did not see) looked very good!

I decided to go the route of a matrix  yrs ago when streaming wasn’t really prevalent. I upgraded the matrix to 4K a few yrs ago. I now have roku sticks local at each TV and only use the matrix to distribute sky around the house and 2 inputs are empty.. Works a treat but as the sky mini boxes can’t do 4K I’m not sure I’d bother if I was starting from scratch.

tdougray reacted to Andrew luecke in Shelly vs Zwave
    G'day,
I actually wrote the Chowmain Shelly Driver.. In the past, I had a Vera plus installed in my place, with a lot of the Zwave Plus gear.

    Zwave
So, Zwave is obviously mesh based. Great for your typical smaller home, but as a custom installer, chances are, you have an awesome wifi network anyway (or should). You can guarantee  the quality of the connection on Wifi a bit better. Zwave is 900mhz so should have better penetration, but there are also less channels available (so, more affected by intererence). And similar to Zigbee, if you have less Zwave devices, you may have a coverage gap, and areas where you need to extend the signal somehow.
A good Zwave job can be as good as a wifi job though (if you're using a good gateway). Zwave does have a bigger range of products, and a wider variety of manufacturers. Zwave is more power efficient, so some devices like remotes may work for longer before they need new batteries (if you need them, few C4 users do).
Shelly has some really cool products like the Uni though for upgrading dumb devices to smart devices.

    Shelly Protocols:
There are two types of Shelly modules now, Shelly Gen 1, Shelly Gen 2 (generally known as Shelly NG).
Shelly NG will (likely) be all modules released from now, and Shelly PM Pro (4,2,1), Shelly 1 Plus, Shelly 1Plus PM, and since it uses Websockets and a cleaner protocol (and newer chips), its preferred.

With Shelly, we basically poll it (and I have some secret sauce that was added into late releases, so it's now extremely fast). In fact, I combined a Shelly Light with Tuya PIR sensor (which had its own built in light), and both the Tuya Light and Shelly triggered at the same time..
Both are great protocols, but the new ShellyNG protocol is a lot more succinct.

With Shelly, its cheap, and we have a 90 day trial (or showroom licence) for all of our drivers at chowmain (and you can contact me anytime if you have an issue).
All feature requests have been resolved with our driver at this time, with the exception of 1 which can't be implemented well (dimmer calibration, which is only ever needed once, and is easily accessible via web interface). We have a lot of users with our driver (everything from effects to Control4 BUTTON_LINK connections are supported.. We even built in an easy announcement option).  We only have 3 outstanding issues (2 unconfirmed, and those are only unconfirmed as the installers took a while to get back to us, and I was awaiting some additional hardware). I'm hoping to have all resolved within the next week (so we're back down to 0 once again)
If you do have any questions, feel free to contact me. But overall, the protocol is extremely fast (and we actually work directly with the Allterco / Shelly team, who are amazing to work with).
Shelly is a great Wifi based product, and Shelly NG makes it even better. So, I definitely recommend them.

tdougray reacted to South Africa C4 user in New iOS "combined" app not receiving incoming calls from DoorStation
If that is the reason, it is disappointing - this would be a great iPad feature and good for users…. I have plenty of T3s and T4s (and have thus spent with C4) but I have no desire for a portable T4 but would like intercom on my iPad… I still wouldn’t put an iPad on a wall.
If the decision is really all about money then charge a once off fee equal to the profit margin on a T4 for access to the intercom on an iPad.  I for one would pay up.

Is that a qualifier in determining if someone can ask for help in here? I'm not being facetious I am genuinely asking because I see these threads pop up quite a bit where people start questioning whether a user has legitimate access. If it is, then I think that something needs added to the site FAQ or something that says users who do not have legitimate access to Composer Pro are not allowed to ask questions about it.
OR (and this is what I would suggest) it is assumed that everyone who asks a Composer Pro related question (not access mind you, technical questions) has legitimate access. If someone feels the user may be lying and/or can't be helped because they don't understand basic concepts then they should refrain from helping.

Yes and yes,    you will need your dealer to do this in composer pro.  It's a simple text alert notification.  Everytime we sell and install a chime for a c4 customer, we program all of this for no additional charge. It is very simple and your dealer will probably not charge either. If for some reason they want to charge you for this, you can always contact me and I can do it remotely for you at no charge. It literally takes 5 min
