I’m a long time user, but would recommend one of the remote dealers on this forum. It sounds like you will get much better support.

I mean I am ok with the dealer model - I knew it coming in and made my decision and do not regret it.  But after being involved with c4 for the last 8 years, I can clearly say there are moron integrators too 🙂 Not Muj directly but just in general there are enough horror stories to know there are bad end users and bad integrators.  That is getting a bit off topic but...

Just connect a sonos port to a triad matrix/amp and there you have it.

We also have Sonos with playbars in 5.1set up  in two rooms and other rooms have play5 now, also have a Move which
    is brilliant.
Works great and agree with comments above
If you wish to search music and use only the C4 app - have a look at Roon Nucleus - bit pricy but
this will give you the search function within C4 and lot more

I use Sonos with Control4.  I have an ARC soundbar as well.  I think the Sonos integration works great.  The only thing you lose is the ability search for music from Control4.  You can only start playing your Sonos Favorites from the Control4 interface.  However, in my opinion, you gain a lot more functionality.  You can still use the Sonos app which is a wonderful experience.  When you trigger something in the Sonos app it shows up in the Control4 interface.  You get to use the Sonos Alexa integration which is way better than the Control4 integration.  You can tell Alexa to play any artist from any service in any room.  You also get a really great experience in app.  An example is Spotify and the sonos selection from it.  To me, Sonos is the best universal integration with Control4 and works well for my family.  Getting 5.1 setup on all TVs is dead simple on Sonos and it integrates well.  I also do audio announcements with Control4 and it works great. Sonos supports Airplay 2 and Control4 only supports Airplay 1.

I have finally received 2 T4s (after many promises that they were 2 weeks away!).  I’m both impressed and underwhelmed.  In summary, definitely a step up on the T3 but not as a big an improvement as I had hoped for.
I have a massive project and two or three of my rooms (heavy on large Experience buttons) are slow to load. On the T3 these could take up to 12 seconds.  On the T4, they take up to 3 seconds (I was hoping for 1 second).
Swiping between rooms is great but there is a noticeable delay (1 second in most cases) before the new room loads (again, bearing in mind that my project is large!).  While this is still noticeable compared to my iPad which is instant, it is not a long enough delay to be annoying (on the T3 it was).  Nor is it long enough to bring up the spinning circle as one waits except on the 2 or 3 really large (graphic heavy) rooms mentioned above.
The camera view seems crisper and so do screensaver photographs.  I am assuming this is real and not just different brightness settings 🙂
These must be a pleasure for the dealer (compared to the T3) as taking them on and off the wall is much much easier.  They are a slick piece of equipment now.
The speakers at the back look impressive so I am expecting better sound quality.  I played an announcement and it sounded good.  I have not tried an intercom call yet.

Annoyingly, I have 2 sets of experience buttons (both ones that I use a lot) which don’t work on the T4.  They just appear as blank squares.  One of these is some of the buttons in the Chowmain Experience Button Suite.  Someone posted this problem in another thread a few weeks ago, so I was not surprised.  I have logged a ticket against this issue.  The other being the EGauge driver from bNet Solutions.  I have emailed the developer and I am hoping this will be an easy fix…
I have a couple of web based apps that run on my system.  On the T3s, these were too slow to be of any practical use.  They are considerably faster on the T4 (2 seconds to load as opposed to 20) and they are quite usable although I suspect that I will still use my iPad much more than the Touchscreen for this sort of thing.

great,   download the free app Wifi Sweetspots and test speeds around the house on both the 2G and 5G bands.   This is an easy way to get a feel on wifi throughput the house and where you may need to add another AP down the road.

Make sure you upgrade, awhile back there was another "Man in the middle" attack that was discovered.  Ruckus did patch it.  At the time of writing this post the latest firmware is 210.10.10.5.246.

While the Ruckus is more expensive than some of the other platforms out there.  It will outperform and out last many of it's competitors.  The features it has is pretty amazing too.  Since we became a certified Ruckus Partner, we haven't looked back.

The Unleashed R550 is a great choice!  Everything from the R5x0 has a second network jack that can be used for connecting a switch/additional equipment.
The recommended/ideal place is on a ceiling due to the antenna patterns.  The access points create a donut shaped coverage pattern, there is less signal behind the access point because there is a metal plate there (at least there used to be a metal plate).
Technically speaking, you will probably get less coverage if you mount it vertically/on a wall. If you place it on an interior wall and want coverage behind that interior wall, it will be less.  If it's your only choice then as a last resort its ok.
If you really want to install it on the ceiling and are looking for alternative methods to fishing a wire inside a wall, you could look into "Plastic race way / wiremolds".
Examples of plastic race ways or wiremolds

Before mounting it, you could place it temporarily vertically and see how the performance is for a week or two.

Tip:  When you create a new wifi, it will automatically create it using 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz radios.  If you have sonos or older equipment that only has a 2.4Ghz radio, you can create a second SSID just for that equipment.  You can have a total of 32 SSIDs, yes, 32 SSIDs.

Just to say Chris has brought my audio based C4 system back up to scratch with the minimum of hassle and at a very reasonable cost.
Many thanks Chris and I would very much recommend anybody in the UK with C4 issues to give him a call - a very decent and straightforward guy to work with.
    Thanks again Chris.

Gary Leeds UK reacted to blub in New “Contemporary” Lightning
Nice, this is the 3rd or 4th lighting "generation" for NA - yeah great tech, looks good and I'm sure works really well.
Meanwhile in Europe Control4 is present for about 8 years and hasn't even managed to provide a single generation of its light switches that actually fit customers expectations and blends into the designs over here - with such a great product, technology wise, this really is an epic fail.
I have talked to numerous Control4 dealers and 2 Control4 employees over the last 3 years and all of them admit that their own lighting products "just don't sell" - the reason is simple and very easily solvable:
Control4 face plates, which are necessary as you can't use other key-caps, do not fit to any design sold over here (plugs etc). Also the faceplates are only available in 1 or 2 gang option even though as much as 5 gang is common.
All it needs are keycaps and a trim ring compatible to the standard face-plates measurements (55 or 50mm) and all of a sudden control4 lighting products are compatible to numerous design lines of face-plates
The solution is so simple that I guess I have to buy a different HA system when I renovate my place in the next year or two....
PS: and no, the puck switch is not an option as it just doesn't fit into any regular sized box, just too big with cables and all

I’d suggest reach out to one of these remote programmers. They will probably offer themselves up. @msgreenf and @chopedogg88 are ones I’ve worked with before. Lots of others around too. If something just like an ip needs to change, or a zigbee channel, which is most likely the case it, would be much cheaper to do that than to have your dealer come on site.

Gary Leeds UK reacted to ekohn00 in Doorbird Doorstation on different network
sounds to me this is a networking question. For example, your home is on a 10.x network, and the doorbird is on another home that might be a 192.x network. (or worse both 10x networks that are not the same).
The most logical way to do this is create a DMZ that you both can share. For instance your home is 10.1, neighbor is 10.2, but shared resources are 10.3.  Now you can create routes between the networks (probably another discussion) and only allow 10.3 to be shared/routable.
There are other ways to tackle, but basically everything needs to be routable between you and the rainbird
